I always submit really obscure secrets and then no one replies to them...

...So I reply to them myself and start little debates. It's pretty fun and a good exercise for seeing multiple points of view.

I am clearly the youngest person in my fandom. I'm only 17, and I'll be a senior in high school this fall.
All of my friends are so much older and have kids and such.
Part of me gets nervous they will find out and treat me differently, but part of me is happy I am getting this out now and I am not spending my time writing hardcore slash fic when I am 30 with kids.

My first time ever liking and shipping two characters in a anime (the hotness and personality factor of the main character is competition for real men), and the fandom is probably enormous (given the out of control popularity) but doesn't seem too active. Are you all hiding somewhere out of lj where I can't see you?!? I mean, apart from the kink meme, which is sort of amazing.

Also, what's with the love for Ivan? No seriously, why? Not that I hate him or anything, but we barely ever see him...

Actually when someone recently asked 'Who's your least favorite character?' Ivan was overwhelmingly chosen. I'm not a huge Ivan fan but I still like him a lot so it made me both sad and amused.

I love all these obscure 80s and 90s fandoms-- movies, TV, computer games...
Obviously there are no communities for most of these, or if there ARE communities, they are completely dead.

I always get depressed when someone posts a secret about one of these fandoms and bunches of people reply to the secret with "I remember this!" or "I love this so much!" but there is no opportunity to discuss more than that. It happens to just about every thing I like.

Also heartbreaking is when someone posts a secret about feeling alone and I reply, but I am a little late and then there is no real way to contact the secret maker. :-(

Ahhh, me too! One of my favourite fandoms is Captain Planet. It actually has a little bit of a following on LJ, but it's still a small fandom, and I really wish it went beyond just the "yay nostalgia!" talk to, you know, discussion.

Yes, Captain Planet was corny, I don't care, etc etc.

So, this rant has been building up for weeks and I can't take it anymore. I can't rant about it on Twitter or Tumblr because I have friends who hate her and I don't want to start crap with her.

Can Sara haters stop bashing her? I love her and I don't understand the hate, but I can deal with it. What I can't deal with is the constant bashing in fics and everything else. I can't take it anymore. What did she ever do that was so bad to make the haters hate her?

And why are people complaining she's ruining Mozzie and Neal's plan? It's a stupid plan to begin with and Neal clearly wants to stay.

And Neal is definitely in love with her - He almost told her about the treasure!

And FFS, I don't know where the thought that Sara was using Neal for a secret agenda came from, but it's so freaking stupid.

And it feels good to get that out.

They start off about the same, but I honestly think the anime was better because it was shorter and wrapped everything up more effectively, whereas the manga just dragged itself out and devolved into your average shoujo.

I know I'm going to sound entitled as shit here, but I get really frustrated when people "favourite" my fics and never leave reviews. Do you like the pairing? The plot? The sex? The dialogue?

IDK. I appreciate that people are bookmarking my fic to read again and adding it to their archive of favourites, but reviews and discussions are so lovely. It kind of bums me out.

Does anyone have a character that they just love beyond reason? Like, you are aware of their flaws but hate when other people point them out, and it upsets you when they are treated poorly in fic?

Idk why I get so attached and protective, it's ridiculous.

Yes and it is usually not the most popular character in the fandom who is always neglected or written with terrible stereotypes.
