Because the standards in fiction, especially in comedies and sci-fi/fantasy, are a lot more blurry than real life. So what kind of stuff crosses the line in your opinion?

[Picture is the villain Moorkus Rex from the adventure videogame "Lost Eden". He is a strange red bipedal reptilian monster with spikes on his spine, armor on his shoulders and huge sharp teeth. It appears that he is being viewed through some sort of scrying portal set on a table by someone, and has the dialogue in subtitles "What?... Spying on me? Ha ha ha..."]

After all this time it still bothers me that there was absolutely no explanation whatsoever as to what exactly Moorkus Rex was.
