I'm about to give up on my fandom. I've stuck it out for four years, but I just can't take it any longer. The current writers are idiots who bang on about headcanons and refuse all interpretations of canon that aren't 'they're so in love!' and 'his canon girlfriend is such a bitch'!

I can't tell if it's always been like this in fandoms, or if I've changed. Has it always been like this, FS? Have I just moved on from fandom?

Trivia you want to get off your chest

I just learned today that there is, or at least was, truth to people who claim they get signals from people/aliens/the government in their teeth. In the 1920s and 1930s in America and Mexico a man named John R. Brinkley made several radio towers that are the basis for XM radio today, that broadcast at 150k to 1 million watts of power, powerful enough to get to Canada from Mexico (though I believe those towers were close to the border), and if you were close enough to these towers you could actually pick up the radio from metal objects, like fences, toasters, and yes, metal dental implants (the radio could also bleed into telephone conversations as well).

So does anyone else have some interesting trivia they have been holding onto or just recently learned?

I'll start. I actually enjoyed EG2. I always loved Sunset Shimmer's design, and it was interesting to see how she/her color was added to the 'rainbow' power up thing. (Makes sense I guess, rainbows are seven colors) ...The songs weren't half bad either.

So, my Avast Virus Protection is going all out trying to get me to do stuff. First it's like "Clean up your browser! Delete bing and yahoo!" and now it's all "bypass video restrictions and make sites think you live where you don't!!" and I'm not sure how I feel about all that.

A Rant Of Minor Proportions!

I help moderate a chat room. I've had my disagreements, and there are a handful of people who I wouldn't talk to outside the chatroom, but in general it's manageable and there's been very little drama. There are a few rivalries ranging from bickering for fun to not liking each other but still getting along, but in general we all get along in a semi-professional, adult manner.

Except for this one user I literally can't stand. They've done nothing wrong, but they are excessively whiny, overly annoying, one of those people who you'd sooner peg for thirteen rather than their actual age. Thankfully they aren't around as much as everyone else, but when they are around I get very, very tempted to abuse my OP powers to kick them out because literally all that comes out of their mouth (fingers?) is 'whine whine whine family problems shipping shipping LOL SO RANDOM XD shipping shipping did I mention my sexual orientation in the last five minutes did I mention my gender in the last day btw, I know this is going to come as a shock, but my parents are awful.'

Like, I get it. They're insecure. Their parents are abusive. They've got anxiety issues. But no one in the chat has a good life, none of us are really doing all right, and yet they somehow manage to be the only one who constantly wallows in despair and routinely brings down the quality of conversation just by signing on. Even the compulsive liar is less annoying than they are.

For some reason everyone else seems to love them, although admittedly, their biggest fan is the most easily exploitable person I've ever met who manages to have less spine than a jellyfish and for some reason acts surprised when people take advantage of her. I like to think that everyone is only putting up with them and that it's a matter of gritting your teeth and baring it because hey, shallow interaction! combined with not wanting to let one person ruin something you enjoy, but I have this nagging suspicion that people actually like them.

There's not much I can do because I am one of the mods and it would be an abuse of power to wail on them just because they rub me up the wrong way, and on top of that it would be really dumb and unprofessional - not to mention that, even if it is shallow, they are at least seemingly well-liked by everyone else there, including the other OP.

So, to wrap things up, eh, but the quality of chat would drastically improve if they weren't there.
