Yes it is. This is the "My weekend sucks" thread, keep this to why your weekend is sucking and go to the other weekend threads (the general stuff, or the good things thread, for other matters) tell us all why.

My weekend sucks because I have to start a new medication regime which means mood swings and painkiller withdrawals for the next couple of days so my system can be reasonably clean for the new poisons they fill me full of on Monday. And Monday will suck because my illness is serious enough they can't give me the full two week detox before new meds, so I'll be suffering low level medication complications in the crossovers.

That and the recent elections had particularly sucky results here. A lot of split votes letting the creepers in the backdoor. But mainly the pain, the withdrawals, the puking, the moodswings and the oncoming sense of dread of next week. Yay me.

If you could, what would you breed for a pet

Starting with something real, of course, and breeding it towards something fantastical. I'd like to breed peafowl using random mutations in the birds, where they occasionally have vestigial teeth or claws on their wings, to get a peafowl strain that all had teeth, claws, and a desire to hunt and eat small prey. Modern, but very pretty, velociraptors. How about y'all?

College

So I thought I was going to graduate May 2017, but my advisor screwed up, and I won't be graduating until December 2017. I have no money and no job prospects, and I just generally feel bummed and anxious.

How is college going for you? Do you like your school? Hate it? Do you have one of those rare, wonderful teachers? How much longer do you have until graduation?

It's racist

Apparently science has discovered that chocolate labs have a gene mutation that makes them constantly hungry, which is why they have such gross eating habits, and can literally never feel full no matter how much they eat. That is one of the reasons so many chocolate labs end up obese, it isn't due to owners overfeeding (well, not always) but because they are driven by hunger to consume anything they can. This breed is born to live a life of pain and hunger and it is extreme cruelty to keep breeding them.

I have a plan to save the giant panda

Okay, so the giant panda can digest meat just like every other bear and occasionally does However there is a specific gene[1] in the panda genome that is faulty which means they cannot actually taste the meat or interpret it as food, and that gene is why they've defaulted to eating bamboo. It is because they instinctively think they are in a famine situation and are eating famine food. What we need to do is catch a grizzly, a bear species that has a functioning version of that gene. Cut the gene out and insert it into the panda germ line, and then breed from those pandas with function meat genes. Bingo, problem solved and pandas can eat meat like a grizzly only with stronger jaw muscles. I can see no way in which this could go wrong.

I nominate "Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again" by Donald J Trump. It is Trump's plan for his presidency and a great book to read and help us understand what needs to be done in the modern world to break away from business as usual in politics. With Mister Trump getting the, well deserved, Republican nomination for president it is a timely read.
