Most Annoying Adaptation Mischaracterizations

You know how lots of times, a movie/TV adaptation of a book/comic/etc will do a really shitty job of characterization with a character? Like, they'll turn a nice character into an asshole, or a smart character into a moron, or totally screw up their motivations?

What are some instance of this which annoy you most?

Mine are: Stupid price tags that can't be torn off without damaging the product and scratchy labels in clothes sewed into the side seam so you can't really get them out without opening up the seam and stitching it up again.

Character deaths

You ever feel bad when a fan-favourite character gets killed in canon, and it seems like 90% of the fandom are in fits of grief and rage over it, and you're just ... okay with it? I mean, not happy about it, you liked the character too, but you think it worked well and you're okay to keep going with the show?

Admittedly, part of this is that, while I liked the character okay, they were never my favourite, and the episode with the death, my favourites were at risk as well and didn't die. So I'm feeling a bit guiltily relieved as well over here.

Due to a number of personal and school issues, I've found myself at the end of the term without having started on my term paper. As this is clearly a problem, and it's due within a few days, I would appreciate any and all tips you have for half-assing and otherwise bullshitting my way through a paper that I fully admit I should have begun weeks ago, but did not.

I already made two recs this month, so I'm going to hold back now. But I think, if no one else comes forward, it would be nice to include one public domain title. If I remember correctly, the five we have so far would all have to be purchased or borrowed from the library, so having one in there that's easily accessible for everyone would be great.
