There's nobody who can drive you? I hate driving, so I usually just offer a friend gas money and lunch when I want to go somewhere I don't feel comfortable driving to.

Alt.Fan.Pratchett, back in 1996. It changed my life and got me into critical thinking. I actually kinda wish it hadn't, I think I'd be happier just going through this life being a shallow idiot rather than automatically thinking about things.

I was 19 and a devout Catholic and went to confession one day, and the priest said something to me that changed my life. He said that rather than divide sins into mortal and venial, sins could be divided into sins of weakness and sins of malice. Sins of weakness come out of our own fallible, animal natures, and should be handled with patience and sympathy. Sins of malice, on the other hand, come from the Devil, are truly evil, and should be despised and shunned. And what I had been talking about were sins of weakness.

This completely turned my head around. I was living with impossibly high standards for myself, hating myself for not living up to them and hating everyone else for not living up to them, either. Reframing these failures as something to have patience and sympathy with helped me to be so much kinder to myself, which in turn helped me be so much kinder and more forgiving to everyone else I was so critical of. It took such a huge weight off my shoulders.

No. I hate the way I look. I hate the way that I have so many health issues. The only parts of my body I like are my eyes and hair.

Yeah, more or less. It does what I want it to do. And I have control over what it looks like.

Very much not. The best I ever feel is when I can not think about it.

Yup. It does everything I want it to, usually with only a minimum of complaining, and is just generally a really comfortable thing. I could wish for better lungs and less of a tendency for migraine, but those are the worst of my complaints.

I am going to be carving a pumpkin this weekend. I think I am going to do Jack Skellington. I also plan on cooking some chocolate chip OR pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Other than that, chores and such. :(

I do several.

-I decide their Hogwarts houses.
-For foursomes, I decide which Horseman of the Apocalypse each character is.
-I decide which elements the characters would wield.
