108 - LOL, is that Shannon Moore? Rock on, OP. Rock on.

(I'm kind of at a loss for who I'd find attractive in the WWE anymore. Jericho, maybe. Beth Phoenix. Kofi. That's probably it. Punk is weirdly charismatic, but maybe not attractive.)

110 - Huh. You know, I can kind of see it, too.

162 - Would you believe, I do have one? I mean, it doesn't work. ;) But my Berserk-adoring friend was making one for himself, and he made one for me while he was at it. It's pretty awesome to wear the Behelit out shopping and observe people's reactions. :)

101. Well, there's a Tezuka festival (http://www.barbican.org.uk/film) near you in September that we Amurricans have to miss out on ... haul out to it! They're screening some of his stuff for the first time outside of Japan.

112. Why is this a secret? We already know that 1/3 of the posters on here agree with you.

123. Can't remember who it was, but one of the Old Boys of anime fandom was talking on a podcast about the differences. I agree with you a lot, but the phrase that kind of surprised me when they were talking about fansubs and easy access? 'Good! This is what we've been working for for the past 20 years!' Or something to that effect. Yeah, easy access means you're gonna have more fly-by-night fans of anything, but there is that payback. I'd never really thought about it from the POV of the people who'd go to cons and narrate the Yamato movies at 3 AM because there was no other choice. It's a double-edged sword, I guess.

129. I don't agree on the ship, but I've always felt the same about her in red.

134. I LOLed in reals.

138. You win hard.

178. Tim Burton has called Depp the 'best fainter in Hollywood' or something to that extent. So you (and I) are in excellent company opinion-wise.

126- That might be taking it a bit far for my tastes, but I actually find myself identifying at times with him in that epic poem. There have been times where I find myself agreeing that it is better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven. Especially when I find myself in miserable situations and trying hard to find the bright side of things.

141. What the hell?! How do yo- wait, I don't even wanna know.

143. LINKS PLZ :D

146. I've discovered that I'm highly intolerant to Joy Division haters as well. I was watching this old as fuck interview with Nick Cave and Jim Thirlwell once and the interviewer hinted that Nick hated Joy Division. As awesome as Nick Cave is, I wanted to punch him in the guts if it was true. Granted, he was drunk out of his senses on that interview...

156. Now I'll always imagine this glorious MS Paint secret when I hear of Breaking Dawn. As if that book wasn't lulzy enough!

Nick Cave, in his rare sober moments, must understand how much of a debt he owes to JD.

(On the other hand, I often tend to want to punch Birthday Party/early Bad Seeds haters too, so...:D)

126. Satanism is not the worship of Satan, it's the worship of self + pagan-style magick with no ethics. And I doubt devil worshippers, which is what you're thinking of, are going to identify with Milton's Satan.
132. The only way you can get turned on EVER, or just by him? Word to 'loved him before, want to fucking punch him now' though.
149. I've never thought about it this way before (I'm bi, for the record) and I sort of love you.
152. An artist doesn't want to think? What's their 'art'? Bad Twilight fanfic? How the hell can you be an artist and not think?
168. Shipping isn't always about jerking off, sometimes it's about writing a good story. For the times that it is for the porn factor, why do people watch porn videos rather than use their hand? Because it's pretty to look at. Seriously, common sense.
187. Troll secret is troll. Also I couldn't even finish the third book because I've never seen such painful strawmanning and not seeing the forest for the freaking acorns. Some Christians are closeminded and ignorant and teach damaging ideas. Solution? KILL GOD, WHILE MURDERING CHILDREN TO DO IT. Also, the Inquisition is happening now instead of thousands of years ago and involves the destruction of souls. Nice job, Mr. Pullman. C for effort and gay angels.
189. You think those scars would make ANYONE attractive enough to get this kind of following? Oh, and all his other movies totally got this kind of reaction too. It's not about his portrayal of the character, hopefully a totally different person from who he was, at all. Fail logic is fail.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-21 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
And I doubt devil worshippers, which is what you're thinking of, are going to identify with Milton's Satan.

Actually, most pretty much do. Well, except from the neo-nazi batshit ones. (We have plenty of drama here in the Satan fandom).

102. Actually, I think the Twilight series is in some ways a horrible bastardization of Inuyasha. I feel horrible saying that, though, because Inuyasha is good and Twilight... well, you know.

For the record, I would so fuck Crispin Glover because I think he is hot. At least to me he is. I don't give a fuck if anyone else agrees with me or not.

Heath as the Joker was hot but do I want to fuck the Joker, no matter who is playing him? Hell fucking no. >> I'm not insane. Though I have always thought Joker/Harley Quinn was all shades of fucking hot and twisted. And I'm pretty damn sure, it ain't because of the actor behind the make up. Since Joker/Harley is comic and cartoon canon only.

[identity profile] megalixer.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
116. ME TOO. I remember totally pimping (read: fuglifying) my shop page back in the 5th grade. Copy + pasta HTML, hell yeah :D

126. Paradise Lost is epic win, but I think you have the wrong idea of Satanism . . . at least, according to the peoples I have met on the internets and, erm, Dan Brown. (and yes, I do know that Dan Brown = epic epic fail, but I like Angels and Demons in the 7th grade, mostly because I wasn't supposed to read it ;P)

149. God, I don't know how to put this without sounding like I'm homophobic, but, uh, studies estimate that homosexuals of all types make up about 2-7% of the population (and that comes from Wikipedia citing about 6 other studies, none done by skeevy nasty groups like focus on the family.) Really, the vast majority of fictional characters in mainstream fandoms display hetero tendencies, so I think it's appropriate (if a tad silly) to say you're wearing "slash goggles" when avidly pairing mostly previously-shown-as-hetero men together (or womens, though I think it's undeniably obvious that people slash guys more often). It doesn't negate your experiences, but it's how it is.

164. Um, miss the part where it was a giant McCarthyism metaphor (or, to be generous, about hysteria) and not a theology lesson?

177. lol, that's like 95% of fanfiction, period. House/Wilson is just a really popular ship, which tends to equal more bad fanfic. (on the bright side, that usually means more good fic too! just more crap to wade through)

187. OMG YOU'RE SUCH A FREE THINKER SAYING THE EXACT SAME THINGS EVERY OTHER MILITANT ATHEIST SAYS WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A COOKIE YOU SPEESHUL SNOWFLAKE YOU.

For the record: radicalism/fundamentalism is bad when applied to almost any ideology, christianity the political organization =/= christianity the system of religious philosophy because humans being humans we fuck up everything, and even if you have something against pretty much every christian ever (oh my goodness 2 billion people at the moment we must all be hypocrites, fanatics, or brainwashed. Yup, Copernicus, Descartes, Newton, Mendel, Planck, etc. - we're all obviously backwards thinkers!) you have to admit that Jesus himself, regardless as to what you think of his divinity, was a pretty swell guy.

196. WORD. There's a huge difference between people being ill-suited to each other and someone not deserving someone else.

114. I FEEL THE SAME. I've played both of those games and it's just so disappointing. :(

Have you ever played Jade Empire? Because they have m/m or f/f relationships. Only they only show the m/f "kissing scene" at the end but the flirting is all there. It's a pretty decent game either way.
