I smoked a bowl and made sun tea this morning, and am now on my second big glass of refreshing iced jasmine green tea. Its 100° here today (for the 2nd day in a row) and I like drinking iced tea all day when it gets this hot bc I don't have AC. I'm having Thai chicken larb and fresh rolls for dinner, something light and cold. A couple of days ago I ordered a bouquet of mixed peonies and they came today and are lovely, they smell so sweet. I'm going to watch Ultimate Tag tonight (it's such a fun potato chip kind of show lol).

I have been feeling like shit all day emotionally speaking and IDK why really. Just a bad day.

Worked. Made delicious marinated chicken. Went to the store twice because I didn't have the ingredients for the chicken. Picked up a bag of chocolate on sale, walked around with it for 20 minutes, then put it back. The usual.

Dentist in the early morning. Then waited on my dad so my mom could run errands and stuff. Did some work. Just woke up from a nap. Been a slow day. My kitty is being absolutely adorable, though. She's watching over my dad. She can tell he's not feeling 100%.

I have to go to a trip to visit my uncle and aunt over the weekend and my cousin and her fiancé spontaneously decided to come as well. And I'm really uneasy and massively anxious about this for several reasons and I really, really don't want to go but there is no way to actually avoid it without it seeming like I have something against my cousin and everything sucks.

To know that I will have to spend several days with my judgy cousin and a complete stranger(have never met her fiancé and I'm also not invited to the wedding while my parents are which makes this extra awkward) when I could finally have had some peace and quiet for a few days is incredibly draining for me right now.

So I've been having a major depressive phase the last few days while trying to pretend it's all great and nice and I'm so tired.

Still working from home. Yesterday was a nice day, but I slept poorly last night and today was just a drag, with some work-related crap at the end. I need to go to the store, but then I'm going to go to bed early, make sure the house is at a comfy temperature, and maybe take a sleep aid in hopes that tomorrow is better.

For context, I'm in ed recovery and want to continue being in recovery + have support with relapses if/when they happen. I had my first telehealth appointment with a dietitian (I've done an intake appointment with her but this was our first actual appointment). She seems really nice and I was able to talk about a bunch of the physical and emotional stuff that's been making it hard to eat lately. It's really scary to talk about the issues I've been having, so I'm proud of myself for being honest with her about it and for reaching out in the first place. I'm emotionally drained, though, because I talked about some stuff I usually don't. For the rest of today I'm probably going to just chill and maybe do a little grocery shopping.

Had to deal with an angry client for most of the day, so that sucked. I went out and got myself a latte and scone at my favorite cafe afterwards to treat myself.

Not a lot. Did take a lovely drive down the Spring Road, which is unpaved and heavily wooded and quite twisty, because there was a *huge* accident on the highway, and Route 66 (my street, basically), is the Incident Bypass Route. So there were masses and masses of semi trucks crawling at about 10 miles an hour through town.

Driving the Spring Road basically got me around a huge chunk of it all, plus - pretty!

With all the tropes you love, a pairing you love, and it is complete BUT it is a wall of text with no paragraph breaks. And two misspelled words in the first two sentences. ;_;

What other fanfiction woes do you have?

Amazing ideas, great execution, pairing I love...but the romance part is written the exact opposite way from what I enjoy about the pairing. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Most of my biggest hates revolve around really extreme OOC stuff. Instant backbutton. I hate it when a summary sounds interesting, but I click on the flick and I start wondering from the first paragraph what tv/movie/book the author was watching/reading.

Someone whose writing I like posts an abo fic for my OTP and it sounds like it's the type of abo fic I like. But the alpha/omega roles are the opposite of how I like them.

One character does nothing but babble and flounder and stutter awkwardly. The other is suave and seductive and manipulates every situation to their liking.

When one character behaves in a sexually manipulative and predatory way towards the other, but there are no tags to indicate that dynamic.

My biggest frustration is that 90% of fic writers rush into the sexytiems/RST portion of the fic way too soon for my liking. :(

Fanfic: There's this one author who writes fic for some couples I like and the smut is quite hot but...... she really....... overdoses... the fic.... on ....... elipses.
My major pet peeve which is my number 1 back button guarantee is constant tense hopping. Once or twice? Annoying but can happen. But every paragraph? No. Just no,

A pairing I love, great premise and interesting setting, but the author just can't write or has a really annoying style.

When people forget that my favorite character was a part of the group too. Yes, he wasn't physically there with the rest of them, but he was still part of the group and made important contributions to it! Nothing makes me back-button out of a fic faster than when they have a get-together and the author just plain forgets his existence and doesn't even mention him in passing. I could even buy a "he's too busy to drop by in person" because that would be IC, but at least remember that he exists, dammit!
