I think she said she wouldn't? I'm not sure. But I hate where their relationship has gone, and I am not happy with how the comic is gone... so I'm glad it's ending. I felt rather the same way about Boy Meets Boy back in the day, except this time there's no Fox and Collin to draw me into the new comic. :(

Agreed on every single point. What bothers me most is that I used to adore Collin, but I'm beginning to hate his character now. It seems like a lot of people fault Fox the most for their relationship deteriorating, and I'm not saying that he's blameless, but I think Collin's done his fair share of the damage and isn't carrying any of the weight. I'm really disappointed in how things are turning out. I just hope the ending won't be as much of an overall letdown as Boy Meets Boy's was.

101. Me too. I really wish her all the best. I don't like her music or her act personally and of course I don't think that she's really the best role model, but I feel so horrible for her. She got roped into this when she was still a kid and now there's nothing else that's going to give her life meaning.

121. I feel this way too, sometimes. I still like to meta for fandom because I like to apply the stuff I read and learn about to the way fans interact, but... I also feel like there's so much pretension and repetitiveness, sometimes. I don't know. I think everybody is just trying to understand the world they inhabit.

155. There is a middle ground: Evaluate characters based on how they're written and the context they're in. It's okay to be a housewife, but waht does it mean when every character is a housewife? ARe all the housewives portrayed as stupid and incomplete, or do they make sense as human characters? Does the author treat them with respect?

Err...isn't the point that this is fandom, so they're talking about the show, and then the issues come up? It's Naruto or Avatar that's the common ground to start with. (And when something like casting the movie version with lots of white people comes up of course the two things are going to intersect.

Or are you saying that nobody can talk about racism at all without saying something like "It's like that time on Avatar when..."?

In fact, I've stopped writing one of my original stories because I just realized how fandom could easily construe the relationship between the main characters as twincest, and that squicks me out. I don't find it shallow if you really love what you do, though. So long as you're not forcing yourself to do it for the cash or the fame, you're golden.

174. I loved that movie until someone pointed out to me the major plothole of aliens who could be killed by water decided to take over a planet that was mostly water. The logic ruined it for me, though I still freak out every time I see the scene where the alien's reflection shows up on the television near the end. All in all, though, I think Shyamalan's best film was Unbreakable, but I'm a comic book dork, so I have to love it. ^^

You know what I agree with you, while I hate character bashing and I don't like the double standard, criticizing how a text handles its female characters or portrays them is not wrong nor is it attack on feminine roles but more often a criticism of how women are not really allowed to have full arcs, I like plenty of feminine characters but I wish the texts they were in handled them better and let them be more then that.
