140. It's a contextual thing. The book came out in the mid 1980s and at the time there was little to nothing like it. It was one of the first graphic novels to be treated like legitimate literature. And that's why it's such a big deal. I mean, like it or not, you have to respect what it did for the medium.

152. I like first generation, but, holy crap, first/second gen is so overrated just because they came first. Gameplay wise, they sucked due to being incredibly imbalanced. Third and fourth gen helped even the playing field a lot and added great things to the franchise.

Then again, to go on a tangent, I think the wank about how he's loved and Nena is hated is equally ridiculous. The reason Ali is loved is because he's an unstoppable psychopath, whereas Nena is just a bitch. Oh my god, this, a million times this. I keep getting irritated that people act like Ali and Nena are the same character, or that you can only hate Nena if you hate women, as though it's somehow impossible to hate a character for other reasons.

Yes, there's a lot of female character bashing in the 00 fandom, but the best way to deal with it is not to take two totally different characters and claim you can't like one without liking the other unless you're a dirty sexist pig.
