Long story short: when I had an FFN account, I publicly promised that I would reply to any and all reviews, if only to say thanks. It was nice because the replies were private, so even though I felt bad about it, writing out the same "Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!" over and over was doable.

But now I'm on AO3, and since replying to everyone was exhausting, now I'm replying to no one. And I feel just as awful because I'm not saying thank you for comments... but on the other hand, I can't just reply to some people and not others.

Basically I'm trying to be a nice person to random strangers and it's another thing to spend energy on and I wanted to whine about it.

What's your personal comment/review etiquette, whether you give or receive them?

I am going to be stuck at a public library every weekday for 1-3 hours. I have my kindle and there is free wifi. I want to find something productive to do during that time. Yes I know it is a library, but I don't want to read fiction books and I don't know what non-fiction books I want to look at.

I am planning on going to South Korea next September. Can anyone recommend some language apps? Or any other kindle apps you can learn stuff with. Or books. I just want to learn something (that I can do quietly), while I sit around. Heck, I would even take some free online classes or something.

I'm the interchange girl. Hi everyone. So, I'm having a lot of trouble making friends here. People simply don't seem to like me, and that makes me anxious which makes me less likeable..

The locals are nice to me, but I don't know how well I'll fit in with them. Our cultures seem a bit too different at this point, even though I thought it would be really similar. I'm afraid I feel really rejected right now...

Secret 1 - Poe, Fibonacci, Bulgakov

[Picture is the writers Edgar Allan Poe and Mikhail Bulgakov, and the mathematician Leonardo Pisano Bigollo (better known as "Fibonacci").]

They're my imaginary friends. I talk to them all the time when I'm alone (and sometimes when I'm walking in the streets). We discuss weather, literature, food; we argue; Poe and Bulgakov do not like each other, Fibonacci likes everyone.

I talk to Bulgakov in Russian; to Poe, in English. Once I went to see a stage performance of Heart of a Dog and then I literally discussed it with the author.
