i really need some outside perspective, i think. i've been seeing this guy since halloween 2014; we were close friends before that, but only for a few months. we fooled around halloween night & started having sex in early november, but just as fuckbuddies.

that was cool and i enjoyed our relationship as it was. but in december i posed the idea of this guy (let's call him B) and i going to florida together for spring break, since my dad lives there and it's close to the beach. B was down for it, and then he told me that i might as well just tell my dad that he and i are dating... so i was like, are we? and he said we might as well be and then kinda asked me out, but this was over text (it was winter break) and he wanted to talk about it in person first.

so we met up on new years but he didnt say anything about it then, and he didnt until a few weeks later when i awkwardly asked him about it. he said he "forgot" but that he didn't really want to make our relationship that serious because i'm graduating in may and he didn't want to deal with the heartbreak of me moving away. so i was like, if you love me it's gonna hurt regardless, but he said if we made it "official" then we'd be closer and it'd hurt worse.

i dropped it until a week or so ago, when i mentioned that i was actually staying in town for a couple of years. i thought that would change his mind but he came up with a new excuse. since he kept mum about it the whole week, i had to confront him again; i was upset at the time and we argued a little. in the end he told me that he didn't really want to date because... i was upset about us not dating? what? yeah, well... that's what he said.

then later (this was today) he texted me explaining that he was actually about to ask me out soon but now that we argued he's having second thoughts. personally, i find this really hurtful. i feel like if he'd actually wanted to date he would have asked already, and he's just lauding it over me for some reason. i feel a little strung along and i respect his decisions but i don't really understand them. he's young (21) and hasn't been in many relationships so i'm trying to rationalize his behavior with that, but... i dunno. i've confided in some friends and they all think it's weird but that he'll either come around or he's just playing hard to get. i don't think either of these are the case. i know he loves me (trust me he makes it very clear he does) but i still feel hurt about being toyed with. our relationship only became romantic when he opened that possibility up in december, and i feel like if he didn't want an official relationship, he shouldn't have said anything in the first place. things got complicated and messed up for basically no reason and i feel like a fool.

tl;dr: the guy i'm kinda seeing initially didn't want to make it official because he thought i was moving away soon, but when i told him i wasn't, he said my hangups about us not dating are the new reason he doesn't want to date. this sounds like a senseless excuse to me, and i'm confused. does this seem weird to anybody else?

deodorant issues - probably tmi

Hey FS. I'm in a tricky position. My skin is super sensitive and I can no longer use any form of deodorant products, antiperspirants, natural deodorants or even goddamn soap (I have to wash with water). The problem is that no matter how often I wash or don't wash, I always have a low grade smell. Like really faint but still there. I just don't know what to do.

Any advice?

Conspiracy theories and you

I deal with someone who's a decent person in general but likes to go on the occasional conspiracy theory spiel. These include that 9/11 was deliberately planned by the US government, ancient aliens stuff, and that mermaids are real.

The other people with us are either open-minded to what she says or nod along vaguely. I either nod along vaguely too or pretend to be concentrating on doing something.

What do you do around people like this?

Alternatively, was 9/11 an inside job? Do people think so where you live? We're not American, btw.

Does anyone else find it really hard to hear what a lot of the characters are saying? Is it just me, or does virtually everyone mutter and mumble? I have to keep adjusting the volume throughout every episode. When we get an action or a non-talking scene I turn the volume down, because I've had to turn it way up to hear what is going on in the talky scenes. Please tell me I'm not alone in struggling with this?
