I never used to like Chardmonster very much and I often found her posts annoying, (but no, I wasn't one of the anons who would follow her around and insult her), but ever since she's broken up with Noodles, I've liked her a lot more. It's like he had some influence on her, that's gone now.

Disgust is harsh but I think third parties can definitely be a good thing. That said, I've voted for a third party, but I'm sure that would have been a much harder decision if I didn't live in California. I sympathize with people who live in actual swing states. Of course, I guess that only really applies to presidential elections, but still.

Based on extensive observation, it is my personal belief that most people who make a big fuss about how " you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince(ss)" are just trying to excuse away the fact that they are utterly devoid of common sense and personal discernment when it comes to choosing romantic partners.

I am becoming increasingly annoyed by tumblr and fandom in general.

I don't know why, but it's really starting to grate on my nerves lately. Just the whole... tumblr thing, especially the approach to social justice. Like, goddamnit people, not everything is US-centric. And not everything is an equally big deal. You do not need to be yelling about stuff all the time. I want to get AWAY from that shit, not dwell on it all the time!

It doesn't help that my sibling has been really vocally tumblr-ing lately. The other day they were going on about Kim Kardashian's butt and how it was such an outrage. There are so many feminist issues that are more pressing, but tumblr chooses to focus specifically on that?

And holy shit, the labels. Labels everywhere! The asexual community on tumblr is particularly bad with this. Everyone's gotta have an MBTI type. Yesterday I saw "holoself" pronouns. Are you fucking kidding me? And do not even get me started on otherkin. Apparently voidkin and spacekin are a thing now.

The way people just overreact to all this shit as if it's important as what's going on in Ferguson, for example, just angers me beyond belief. It's so exhausting. Maybe this is a symptom of getting older, but I have ZERO FUCKS left to give. I'd much rather spend those fucks on stuff that actually matters in the real world.

I don't think the eco-liberal movement is salvageable. It's too linked with toxic movements like anti-vax and homeopathy. (Matthias Rath is a vitamin salesman who tells AIDs sufferers in Africa that Western medicine is a plot to make them sicker and they should just buy vitamins instead. Upper-middle-class white Americans celebrate him as a hero. What's wrong with this picture?)

Tadashi from Big Hero 6 was a boring character. I don't get why so many people came out of the movie all attached to him. He was just a plot device.

It pisses me off when I look at an animal shelter, and it's full of nothing but mixed breed puppies.

I have no problem with mixed breed puppies, but it just makes me think that there must have been some irresponsible pet owner who thought, "Let's not neuter/spay our dogs and see what babies they make!" and didn't realize how much work keeping puppies would be, or just decided they'd dump the puppies at a shelter because it was easier than finding homes for the puppies. I realize this is all terrible assumption-making on my part, and I have no real reason to believe this is the case (could have been two stray dogs instead for all I know), but I can't help but think some puppies now have to live in a cage because of some dumbass' lack of foresight.

I think the United States is a great country -- every single immigrant family that I've talked to is unbelievably grateful and happy to be here. And there's far more opportunity than a lot of parts of Europe. It irritates me when people shit on it when they've never lived in the US as well.

I also think people make too big a deal about racism in the US. Classism and lack of money is a much bigger dividing factor in my opinion. If you have money, it doesn't matter what race you are -- you're better off than someone without it.

Hearing people talk about "button-up" shirts really grinds my gears. Mainly because I worked so hard to break myself of the habit when I realized "button-down" was the more accepted and widely used term at the time.

I have a genuine and vehement personal dislike of anti-vaxxers. I don't think I could ever be friends with someone who even felt like it was open for discussion.

I think this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I think some fans have their slash goggles screwed on a little too tightly. I mean, I think it's fun to interrogate the material and see slash where you can and squee and stuff, but some fans take it to a level that makes me uncomfortable for their grip on rationality. E.g., they will take some fan-service jokes the actors make at cons and say, "See? They're playing them gay for each other!" When, in fact, no: the actors were just being nice and making a joke for the fans. They are in no way altering the way the characters are written to act as if they are in love with each other when at the same time one of them has a female love interest in the scene.

It kind of upsets me because I don't like to see people slipping over the edge like that.
