Hi!

I showed up on Dreamwidth in general recently because it looked a little more fandom-lively than LJ and I had the nostalgias and what the hell. Then I specifically looked for FS because I realized I missed seeing those for a long time.

Haven't really found the liveliness - seems like Tumblr is still the best for my fandom or I just (probably this one) suck at searching - but man, it's nice to see FS again. Even if I don't know half these fandoms anymore. My last one before burrowing into the MCU was LOST.

I had an account on LJ but for reasons I won't go into chose to just be anon when FS moved here. I finally decided I wanted a named account - that simple.

I have a lot of interests as far as fandoms go but I'm not active in anything unless reading fic counts :)

I read f!s on and off since the LJ times (a little before the poll to decide whether to keep letting in "Ship it"/"Hit it" secrets, and the poll to change the time when Case would post).

I don't comment much, but it's still fun to read all the conversations here. You're all pretty cool at this place! :)

The Joker from The Dark Knight. I love a villain who is evil just because.

Walter White for TV shows because is was awesome to see his transformation.

I honestly tend not to be into villains very often. I find the romanticizing of evil pretty repulsive, and most villains, if they're written miserable and pathetic, aren't the type you get really emotionally attached to.

That said, I did really enjoy Acheron Hades from The Eyre Affair. A dude who actually aspires to pure evil, untainted by greed or anger or personal desire? That's funny enough to actually strike me as interesting. I mean, he kidnaps Jane Eyre, PURELY so as to ruin the Jane Eyre fandom forever! That's great!

My dad called me today to tell me that the jewelry that mysteriously disappeared in his house FIVE years ago, has been found. I had written off as stolen and pawned off. But nope, he found it clearing out a closet. My Saint Michael medallion is missing but everything else is there! I can't wait for him to mail to me.

Tamora fucking Pierce. Who has done more for social justice than your reblogging ever has.

But nah, people are saying she needs to be "killed", she's a "bitch", and that her books are the worst and should never be recommended to anyone. Half the people have said that they've never even read her books.

And now Tamora Pierce has left tumblr, at least temporarily.

Possible spoilers, depending on how much you trust GRRM to actually stick to a fucking plan.

First of all, a note on ~ages~ because I KNOW someone's going to bring it up because of some of this nonsense. It's not mentioned in the letter, but I've heard many time that there was supposed to be a time skip between Planned Book 1 and Planned Book 2. Like, Ned and Robert die, everyone goes home and fumes for a while under Joffrey's shenanigans, and THEN there's a civil war. Which makes so much more sense when you think about it. All the Stark kids, "Baratheon" kids, Jon, Dany, etc. all should have aged up 5+ years.

•Jon, Dany, Arya, Bran, and Tyrion were all intended to survive.
•There would be a Jon/Arya/Tyrion love triangle, that could only be resolved "when the secret of Jon's parentage is revealed." LMAOOOOOOO.
•Sansa chooses the Lannisters over her family; regrets it
•Robb is killed in battle with the Lannisters; Catelyn is killed by the Others (it seems like she might go north of the Wall with Bran, maybe Arya too).
•Tyrion is the one to burn Winterfell but eventually winds up on the Starks' side
•Jaime is "king" after Joffrey's death, in what is sounding more like the storyline Cersei's now getting, so maybe he's regent.

•No mention of Dany's arc beyond the "flees with her baby dragons" stage, although she was supposed to kill Drogo "to avenge her brother"!

•It was clearly more focused on being a straight-up War of the Roses thing with just the Starks/York and Lannisters/Lancaster, with the Targaryens as the ended Plantagenet line. There is no mention at all of Stannis, Renly, or the Greyjoys, who make it the "War of Five Kings."

I just finished writing my first solo unit plan (teacher, here). I'm even happy with the result.

My LD SO finally emailed me back.

I get to set up my little space with multiple levels, in my sponsor teacher's office, for when I get tired of sitting.

2016 Presidential Election

I just wanted to point out for the benefit of posterity that Scott Walker is going to win the Republican nomination for President and face Hillary in 2016. Also I'm pretty sure the VP for Hillary is going to be Michael Bennet, the senator from Colorado. Haven't figured out Walker's VP pick yet.

Feel free to quote this post in a year and a half when it's Clinton/Bennet 2016 versus Scott Walker.
