Alright, I saw no one else advertise anything for this weekend, probably because I just realized it's Easter Weekend, so I'm taking it. Last year I had my first ever stream with Jesus Christ Superstar; this year I'm switching it up a bit with my first ever Bollywood stream. I've got a lot these movies on the backburner, so if y'all end up liking them, expect more to come.

First up, remember Christopher Nolan's Memento? A suspenseful thriller told out of order about a man with short-term memory loss avenging his dead wife's murder? Well, Bollywood made their own shameless ripoff version. With singing and dancing and extended flashback scenes. Actually, it's pretty damn awesome. It's Ghajini. (And yes, these two posters are for the same film.)


Next, crank your RULE-OF-COOL-o-meters up to eleven. Like this is THE ultimate popcorn flick and I am somewhat ashamed that it does not have any sort of cult following in the US outside of Bollywood circles. Hot police officers attempt to catch hot international art thieves. Explosions and motorcycle chases galore. It's Dhoom 2.

Who are some characters that fandom tends to wildly mis-characterize in fic/whatever and it drives you crazy? (example: The Supernatural fandom often portrays Lucifer as a misunderstood woobie which, granted, is pretty much what he tried to sell himself as in the show but it was also made pretty clear that he's mostly an arrogant sociopath)

Anyone got any thoughts? Personally I find it dispiriting that a group can so blithely decide to hijack an award, and for reasons of such petty racism and misogyny too.

I can't decide between just not voting this year, and voting "No Award" across the board. It has clearly been devalued by this, no matter what anyone claims.

Finding Hotel discounts

So I have a question. Don't know if anyone is still here, but figured I'd try.

So I've decided that when I take the bar I need to stay in a hotel because dealing with an hour transportation each way that morning is just not something I want to deal with.

But I've been looking at the ones near where the bar is, and youch. Is there anywhere I can look for discounts if I'm looking only to stay in some specific hotels? It needs to be near the bar location. So things like Hotwire that don't let you select a specific hotel won't help.

Is there a kinkmeme for this? Because if so, I have like a million prompts. Or an RP board or something?

If not, how does one go about starting a kinkmeme?

Anyone else? I feel like a lot of the prompts write themselves. Natasha/Clint being one of the most obvious to me, but maybe that's just because of the F/m slant of the Tumblr linked. I just feel like Clint would be happier if he had a space where he could act like the teenage boy he obviously is on the inside. There's also an ancient femmeslash evil awakening within me that would PAY MONEY for Emilyverse Xena/Gabrielle. Or Scully/Mulder, while we're in the 90s. John/Sherlock is almost too obvious to bear mentioning.

Fandom (AU?) fics

I'm looking for fics (or anything else?) where characters are "ordinary" fans of something and not in the roles they are in canon, or still in their canon roles, but the focus is on characters being fans.

Or, if applicable, AU of the characters in "IRL" fandom (sorry for the quotes) in any time period, meaning including fandoms for things not in canonverse. Basically how they'd interact as part of a fandom, explored a bit more than plain headcanons of "character X's Tumblr is full of [in-character thing]".

Any fandoms, including RPF. It's an odd craving, I'll take what I can get.
