As everyone who's ever been anywhere near the FF7 fandom knows, spelling a character's name correctly is Serious Business. Here's a secret from someone who would like us all to be aware of the difference a single letter can make.

Although case claims that secret placement is totally random, sometimes you gotta wonder. For example, whenever secrets like these two end up right next to each other.

Have you ever speculated about the sex lives of eldritch horrors beyond human understanding? If so, you're not alone, as evidenced by this batch of Lovecraftian headcanons.

should secret spotlight continue?

I've been pretty consistent with the secret spotlight from the FS Index, but I notice it doesnt seem to be drawing much interest.

What I don't know is if it's because Wednesday is a bad day, people don't care about the secrets I've pulled, or people don't care at all.

It takes a chunk of time to pull secrets, rehost them and pull all the links together, which eats into time I could be indexing. I probably won't shut the spotlight down entirely, but I've been trying to draw from a wide array of fandoms and topics, some of which I personally don't care about. And if the issue isn't just the day, I'll only pull secrets that I'm particularly interested in (which pretty much means no anime, videogames, bandom,and a lot of other things).

So this is your chance to affect the future of the Secret Spotlight. What are your thoughts? How can it be better? Do you not care?

Note: if it needs to move to a weekend, it'll pretty much always be 2 hours after the post goes up before I can get to it.

My friend invited me to come visit her in Colorado. I'm in Oregon.

I want to drive out there, since my car gets pretty great gas mileage, and I've never really seen anything beyond Oregon/Washington/California?

But I've also never driven that far before, so: How do you do the thing?

I can't do caffeine, unfortunately. :(

I figure, a stop every two hours to stretch + audiobooks/music? Anyone have any song recs?

I might have to stop somewhere overnight, but I'm budgeting for that.

Anything I should try and see? I'm heading to Denver, if that changes anything.

I know we all grieve in different ways. One may be more emotional than another, you may never cry at all. But it still feels weird, and you question if you're doing it right. I just know to keep doing what I've always been doing, that's all I know. Work, exercise, sleep, try to walk around for the purpose of walking itself to be doing something. Those little things that unexpectedly pop up and you go 'I'm not going to get to do that with my father anymore' 'oh dad would love this'.

Sorry if this posts seems out of place. I seem to either be looking for validation or just writing for the sake of writing, to get it out there. To know that your loved one isn't forgotten. I need to go find someone to hug now.

I have a friend who believes white going first in chess is part of the legacy of whites oppressing blacks. So now she's making a chess set with different colors so it won't reinforce privilege.

And I'm like...do you even know the history of chess or the history of racism, because it seems like you don't. And you don't get that what race means to people changes depending on time and culture. And that not everything has to do with race ffs. Sometimes black and white are just colors.

I wonder if she's gonna decide next that go is super progressive because black goes first.
