- When you're trying to tell someone something important or that you're excited about, and they're clearly not listening, but claim they were by quickly rattling off what you just said and changing the subject. It's like, fine, you were technically listening, but not really listening.

- People who take calls when you're with them, mouth "I'm sorry" and make gestures that indicate the other person is being chatty and they're trying to get off - then as soon as the person's clearly stopped talking, they ask or say something else. I don't think the person on the other line is the issue.

Extroverts who talk over everyone and don't give those who are quieter or who think before they speak a chance to say anything.

People who think that their idea of fun applies to everyone and try to tell those who like other things that they should "get out more and have more fun," as if what they think is fun is objectively fun for everyone.

People who think that if something is said as a joke that means anything goes and they can't be criticized for their statement because it was a joke. Also people who don't pay attention to other people's cues and use their teasing or even mean sense of humor with someone who clearly is uncomfortable or hurt.

You know what? The biggest one might be the social "how are you"? You know what, damn it, I'm not going to say "good" when it's not god, and you shouldn't ask if you don't want n answer.

People asking "what can I do to help?" in a crisis. They mean well, but... they also don't mean they'll pick up the dog's shit and drive the kids to school at six am. (Except when they do, which is great, but then offer that.)

People trying to talk to someone when they have headphones in. Or when they are trying to read a book. Those two things usually mean that someone wants to be left alone.

People talking to you as they're leaving. Like they're literally walking away from you and still asking questions.

People that try to hold conversations when they're in a different room. If you want to talk, come over.

My least favorite is when people you've just met start telling you everything. We've known each other for three days, I don't need to know your cousin's life story or how your neighbor's sister is in jail again.

When I'm obviously trying to be left alone, doing the whole avoiding people, putting headphones on, sticking my nose in a book spiel, and yet people STILL approach and try to strike up a conversation. Look, I don't know if you're talking to me because I "looked lonely" or something, but seriously, I do NOT want to talk, hence why I was over here.

People talking on cell phones, especially when you're trying to wait on them. I don't care about your gossip, shut the hell up and get off your phone for five minutes so I can get you the hell away from my counter.

When you're trying to explain something to someone, and they just give you some variation of the "Mm-hmm, that's nice, dear. I'll fix the blender in the morning" response. Then they get mad or confused because "no one explained it!" Maybe if you took your head out of your ass when I was EXPLAINING it, you would know.

I don't get it. "Hey they are totally offensive and treat people like shit but we insist on hanging out with them all the time, even when we ourselves are nothing like them."

I hate having to stop spending time with people I legitimately like to avoid... assholes. I barely see my best friend from college because she married a complete dipshit couchgolem who thinks the word nigger is hilarious (he has like one black friend! It's okay!) and called her fat while she was pregnant with his kid. Did I mention he's fat? I wouldn't care except the man literally looked like fucking Drunk Shamu at his wedding and he's making his wife, who DANCES, feel fat.

And I'm not even talking about the Great Assholes of my life, just this one tertiary dude! The Great Assholes are even harder to explain! I don't understand.

People who constantly and consistently cut you off after you've said 1.5 sentences. That's .5 sentences too much for them to go without talking, apparently.

People who will talk for hours about themselves and never offer the least bit of interest in you.

People who bail on plans they've made with you in order to make new plans with someone else.

People who ask you to explain yourself when you say no to them.

Not being informed of (changes of) plans that affect me.
Like, if something I was expecting to happen isn't going ahead, I'd prefer to know ahead of time instead of an hour after it was supposed to start when I've gotten ready and am wondering what's going on etc.

1) unless you're also Wiccan, praying to a god I don't believe in does jack shit to help me

2) I'm not even expecting you to help me. But if all you're going to do is pray to gods I abandoned the minute I was old enough that nobody could force me to go to church anymore? I'd rather you just not tell me about it.

Apparently, it's okay to say "Hello" or whatever to the back of a stranger's head from some distance away when there are other people within earshot and there's no way this person is going to know they were the one you were trying to talk to and there's no reason they'd even be paying attention to unfamiliar voices behind them, but still expect an immediate response, and it's also okay to act like they are the rude ones for not realizing you were talking to them right away. Further, third parties will take your side and use the incident as proof that young people are so rude these days.
