Also, my kitty licked me this morning, and she never does that.

Sometimes it is the little things.

Finally, the Democrats have retaken the House. And, while I'm terrified about who Trump will replace him with, Jeff Sessions being gone is still a good thing because he was really terrible and outright evil.

I went to a concert on Monday and got some really great videos. I've been sharing them with my friends and they've all been very patient with me as I talk their ears off about how good the show was.

I'm going to work overtime on Thanksgiving. That is good news because I volunteered to do it and it will be nice to have the money. (Also it's a nursing home so it's not like they have the option to be closed.)

Just that Texas is not one, unified thing. Actually, many of the cities are extremely liberal. It is the rural areas that fit more into the stereotypes.

I've never seen it, but apparently the episode of NCIS set in my city includes shots of palm trees despite there not being any palm trees in the whole state.

There's a lot of dislike toward Tampa for reasons I don't understand. I've never gone but it's better than the Panhandle.

Apparently Germans don't know what humor is, when I believe the media from other countries (movies, tv shows, late night shows, stand up comedy).

Also the language, but I guess almost every foreign language gets butchered in other countries, so I'm usually fine unless they make it sound distinctly Hitler-holding-speeches-like.

Also, everything in California is not one fifteen minute drive away from everything else in the state.

Vent thread

I got shouted at by a woman at work today for calling her "love." And I mean proper, angry, HOW DARE YOU shouting. Keep in mind I live in Cornwall where phrases like "love, darling, me lover, me handsome" are so commonplace down here you can't go a day without hearing them. It's just part of friendly conversation here.

She then launched into a rant about how it's demeaning/sexist/patronising, attitudes need to change, and (this got me the worst) "If you'd ever been subjected to sexual harrassment, then you wouldn't talk to women like that."

I had to bite my tongue to stop from saying "I've had plenty of that, and physical assault, actually, thanks." I wouldn't have minded if she'd just said "I don't like being called love/darling/etc, can you not please," that would have been perfectly fine, but she went straight for verbally destroying me. I wasn't a drunken creep shouting at her in the street, I was a girl trying to make friendly talk with another girl while I served her. Now I feel like the worst person ever for making her feel uncomfortable. I didn't know.
