No, it's not if people don't listen to my music. I listen to so much that I generally have coinciding tastes with everyone I meet. So it has nothing to do with that. And me needing music all the time wasn't indicative of how I feel about people who don't need that, it was just to emphasize how important music is to me. And since it is so important to me, I've met my share of people that don't like it, because eventually, with me, the subject will always come up.

The original was pretty damn slashy too, but it was also very much an 0T3 -- the remake went so far as to kill off the female. Ahh, how hard it was to not just use the RP account for this...

Anyway! I know how you feel, anon, to the point where I wonder if some people will suspect I'm you. (Or maybe I'm just full of myself.) But I do also feel obligated to note that the fandom does also do really neat stuff sometimes, and more importantly that there are assuredly good sane non-creepy fans/fanmaterials out there, even if you maybe have to look a little harder. It's certainly a culture shock though, and I'm not sure it's always worth the pedos. ...And lord god, it's hard to escape fanon.

But there's nothing that's not awesome about little girls in frilly dresses wielding massive destructive power at each other and then having tea, and that's the important thing.

Eh, I just see these kind of things as an offshoot of the Kinsey scale--some people are at the extremes of the scale (and to say they don't exist at all is silly), but most are somewhere in the middle. I don't know of the actual research that's gone on since then, but "most people are varying degrees of bisexual" isn't just a fandom thing.
