Hah, YOI was my gateway to figure skating, and one of the things that made me fall in love was the video of Yuzu's Onmyouji program at the GPF 2015. It's still one of my absolute favorite FS programs.

And hey, it's never too late to become a fan of any skater. One bonus is that you can binge a bunch of his past performances if you like :D

This is hilarious!

It always cracks me up as well (not just c-dramas, Japanese and Korean ones too -- LatAm telenovelas do it too, but it's usually someone European who actually speaks Spanish like a native or they put on an accent, but I digress). My favorite has to be when they're just there as random body guards or whatever to some rich family lol. There was one dude who played an English teacher and his Japanese was actually pretty good (I'm willing to bet he's actually an English teacher lol). He spoke English like normal. Some random tutor however...where do they cast these people?! Lol

I will say I was super surprised (and happy) when I saw a black girl in one the Japanese dramas I was watching! I'm pretty sure she was half Japanese probably, and she had no speaking lines, but still!!! She was visual constant as one of the other office workers. It was cool!

They did dub his dialogue. If you compare Hendry's Terrible Terrible English with the accent the actor uses in his end credit interviews, it's very noticeable.

To be fair, there's an in-character reason for Hendry's Mandarin to sound bad, in that he *is* a foreigner.

When this character (played by a different actor) appears in Lost Tomb 2,they dub his English dialogue and use a voice actor who speaks English with a very noticeable Chinese accent. This franchise cracks me up.

I don't play games, I just read the lore. I find the World of Warcraft, Warhammer, and Elder Scrolls lore interesting and read it even though I'm likely never going to play a game. Those worlds just interest me. I even read fic sometimes.

Same here, even with D&D and Warhammer I am just there for the lore. Warhammer shot themselves in the foot with their Fantasy version's revamp, as far as I'm concerned, because the new system is distinctly light on lore and fluff.

The amount of DMC fic I have read at this point is hilarious. I've never played it and briefly read through the wiki and checked out some Fanart. Good enough for me!!

Problem is, where the hell do you go to find out about the lore? It feels like the two main sources are annoying fan wikis and annoying youtube videos, unfortunately.

There's surprisingly little commentary in the fanfic I've seen about what he could do with those fingers. The tattoo comes up fairly often, though.
