Welcome to the world of comic books. Where a not anorexic looking Batwoman was called "fat", and spines are broken to show that oh so impossible'oh so sexy' ass and boob pose.

Females in comics are really only there for men's fapfodder. They don't really care about their character or personality, or how not every female superhero would want to have a boob window, nine inch heals, and a battle thong.

Superheros are very active, yes? So. Boobs get sweaty (especially big ones).

Some SJW is going to call this slut-shaming, probably, but I agree with you completely. Seriously, if you have a boob window, people are going to look at the fucking boob window, if only to wonder "WTF is she wearing!"

I mean, honestly. If I saw someone wearing something like that IRL I would probably stare too, if only for the sheer WTF factor. Especially if they were just walking around like in office or something like it was the most normal thing in the world.

...Right, yeah, I completely agree with you (it's not just her costume, but the way she's drawn in that second panel with the hair and makeup and smirk and- ugh). Sometimes, female superheroes do have really awesome costumes -- more often than not, however, they don't.

See, I don't get it either. If the comic book writers wanted her character to dislike people staring at her tits, why does her character design include a big freaking senseless boob window? They look so stupid.

The boob window is moronic, I agree, but from a totally in-universe perspective: If she wants to go around with a boob window, I don't see how it's anyone's business and there is absolutely no excuse to judge her character or abilities for it when it has nothing to do with her superheroing.

....but the staring part? Totally agreed. Yeah, people are going to stare at that, no matter what, even straight women and gay men. Just like people are going to stare at Johnny Storm when he strolls around with his hair on fire, people are going to stare at Thor when he sits around in winged helmets and Goldilocks-esque hair, and people are going to stare at Green Arrow when he runs around in his ridiculous Robin Hood getup. Superheroes are a weird and flashy lot, with lots of insane visual quirks.

There's honestly nothing wrong with staring at something that unusual, what's wrong is the opinion that displaying your boobs in a way that makes people stare at them somehow makes you less of a hero than, say, a guy who does his superheroing dressed in a giant American flag.

I think it'd be a lot better if the character owned the whole sexiness of the costume and had a cavalier attitude about it. There are plenty of women out there who like wearing revealing clothes and are very assertive with their sexuality and that's okay, and I always like those sorts of characters in fiction and especially comic books because IDK I think sexy costumes like Black Canary's or Black Widow's (LOL "BLACK") are really cool, I like the confidence those characters have. I don't get Power Girl having this sort of attitude either, and it's like, why have this outlandish boob window that serves no purpose (I mean I could understand if it was just a low cut top or something but it covers everything EXCEPT THE CLEAVAGE) unless you want people looking at your tits?

Simple, yet effective. I like it. Pit the "you deserve to be treated like a sex object when you dress like a sex object" crowd against the "no slut-shaming" crowd. Throw in a few commenters who have opinions on misogyny and anti-feminism in the comic book industry, and maybe a few "Breasts really shouldn't be seen a sex objects anyway!" people and we may have a good wank and/or discussion going here.

What I hate about the boob window is panels like this where they have the character call attention to it in a way that's supposed to sound empowering. Like another panel where she explains where the window's there as a distraction tactic.

Because I now the reason it's there is the same reason every other woman is wearing a skimpy outfit. It's for fetishizing boobs. Yet not only do I have to be aware of that, I have to listen to the character lecturing me on how it's bad to think of them that way.

I would find it uncomfortable for my knockers to be popping out of a boob window like that, but maybe it airs them out for her when she flies? It may get hot in those suits for all we know.

I kinda wanna see some sexy super heroine outfits that are practical and make sense to the character. If a hero's gonna have a boob window let it be because she wants it there and because she wants people to notice her boobs. Make the costume a reflection of her personality instead of having her be annoyed by her own fashion choices! Plus I think it'd be neat to have more uniforms that are sexy without being obvious.

Being female myself I've never got pissed off at a dude staring at my boobs. I mean seriously if I have them presented like that it's my own fault. That's why I always get so fucking pissed when women are all my eyes are up here, yeah they may be but your boobs are on a silver platter for them to stare at so you can't really blame them.
