Did something change with Tumblr in the last couple of days?

I just to be able to browse all posts with a certain tag (i.e. tumblr.com/tagged/whatever) in a nice orderly list, top to bottom, where more would appear automatically as I scrolled. But now it's all just a bunch of random boxes, side-by-side all messily, with a small snippet of the post/picture showing. It doesn't seem to be updating with new posts, and I can't even click the boxes to view the full posts.

What happened? I don't have an actual Tumblr account, but if I were to get one would this be something that'd be fixed? Perhaps they did it as an incentive to get people to register? I dunno, but it really sucks.

hi,
I was wondering if all you worldly people had hints on how to go about attending a club. i joined meetup and i'm going to a meetup tomorrow of some 40 people and I'm so so nervous.
Mostly because I am REALLY bad at remembering faces (especially from photos) and i'm worried i won't be able to find the group or integrate (lol) myself properly.

Posted about three weeks back, anxious I was going to fail, and you guys backed me.

Well just got told I've passed the assessment centre this morning.

Haven't given me my exact scores yet, but that's pretty much immaterial outside bragging points.

There's a final stage (well that and fitness/medical - but I've passed the exact ones I'll be given for something else, failure isn't really a worry on that point), but even if I fail that this is good for any general police application for the next two years.

So all the thanks for encouraging me and bugging me to get my ass in gear to get ready <3

Hello, hello! I'm back for a while (until Sunday, specifically) while cuteanimalpics takes some time off. Firstly, some panda news! On the last post I made, I mentioned a contest to name a tiny new panda at San Deigo zoo. Since then, the little guy's had his very own naming ceremony. The winning name was 小礼物, pronounced as Xiao Liwu, which translates to 'little gift'.

If you feel like you missed out a chance to name a tiny animal, though, don't fret! Pueblo Zoo in Colorado is seeking entries on its facebook page for suggestions for a baby two-toed sloth. Its mom is called Chewie, and apparently some of the staff members are rooting for Han. Also, I have totally made panda and sloth posts before. Feel free to check them out via the links!

Anyway, a happy thanksgiving to all! I hope everyone's doing good today, or as good as they can hope for, and maybe a bit better. I know I missed Halloween, but hopefully I can make up for that with some American animals, several of whom you might know, and maybe one or two you might not. Since regardless of whatever they are or wherever they're from, the appeal of cute and/or interesting things can totally transcend borders anyway, right? At least, that's what I'm also hoping for.

Well, with that said, on with the pictures!

Functioning on limited sleep

So I'm going to be working a night shift at my volunteer job, which is going to go straight into a day shift at my permanent job.

(opportunity I can't afford to miss on the volunteer job, and couldn't get the time off work the next day)

All told I'm going to have to remain physically active and mentally focused for in ideal circumstances about twenty six hours. I'm rather good at pushing my body on limited sleep, but not sure how going the duration rather then a string of standard days on a couple hours is going to differ.

I already drink an unhealthy amount of coffee anyway, and I've packed some caffeine tablets. Anything apart from that worth trying?

I used to be able to memorize lines, even monologues, really easily. However, in the years between my last acting experience and this class, I've had so many nightmares about being up on stage and forgetting my lines, that my confidence about memorization has been completely shot. I haven't been able to do it nearly as well as I used to.

I have a really long monologue coming up as my final project and I have to be off-book by Wednesday or my teacher will give me another lecture. I've never felt this nervous about acting. It used to just come to me. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but maybe I'll do better with some encouragement, so I've come seeking it from anons on fandomsecrets....

Recommend me some books?

Are there actually YA books out there worth reading? I'm an adult (mid-twenties, if it matters) but prefer YA fiction over "adult" fiction any day. The problem is, I'm having a big amount of trouble finding something worth reading and which won't get filed under my DNF (did not finish) tag. I have about a hundred or so books in my calibre library and actually "liked" 3 or 4. Some were remarkably bad (grammar, etc. I don't understand how they even got published and whatnot.) while others... blah.

Anyway, recs please? I enjoy pretty much anything. Romance and happy endings being a fav.

I've also already read, or tried to read most of the "popular" YA books already. The Hunger Games, Divergent, etc...

/apologizing in advance for not making any sense. Almost falling asleep here, just thought I'd ask for delicious recs. :)

I've checked the Ao3 tag, but I can't seem to find an LJ comm (if it exists) so I'm wondering if there's any fic that's just solely on LJ/DW that's passing under the radar.

But even if you have recs hosted on Ao3, I'd love to see them anyway, in case I skipped them the first time around. :)
