Every time a random gentile (by "random" I mean someone without any actual relationships with Jews, but who prefer to see everything from their own ethnocentric perspective, and frankly this is most of them) comes into a conversation about Jewish-Gentile mixed marriages, I want to tell them to shut up and go away, because no, YOU DON'T ACTUALLY GET IT.

I don't tell them any of that, though.

I'm really sick of hearing the "BOOTSTRAPS!" argument. No, not the one you're thinking of.

See, I fully recognize that life isn't fair. That help is sometimes needed, and not everyone starts out at the same place. But any time anybody says anything about making personal sacrifices or working harder than other people to get/try to get where they want to be (whether you should have to or not) it's immediately dismissed with "BOOTSTRAPS!!!!! (This is the 'BOOTSTRAPS!!' argument! You lose!)"

Seriously, it's almost enough to make me kind of believe the right-wing drivel about the "you can't be successful lies that liberals have convinced people is true."

This is actually sort of fandom related, but I hate all the politics/SJ stuff on tumblr, not because I disagree with it or whatever, but because I browse tumblr and participate in fandom mostly so I can ESCAPE from that sort of thing. I know SJ issues are important but I hate reading about rape and sexism and racism, etc. all the time when I'd rather just look at pictures of robots or slash fanart of Go Nagai characters or Persona 4 stuff or whatever. Shit, it's like I'm perpetually in college, like I'm trapped forever in my Feminist Theory course and I can't get out

Yeah I know there's tumblr savior but a) I can't figure out how to get it to work even after people have explained it to me (tumblr still sort of confuses me) and b) this stuff doesn't always get tagged anyway so it wouldn't help much

I can't poop with my glasses on or my hair down. I have to take off my glasses and get my hair into a ponytail.
Thankfully, I can poop with contact lenses in... it would be quite a problem if I couldn't either.

Sometimes I feel like the textbook definition of the perfect daughter, except slightly off. I mean I'm religious, I want in on all the religious programmes my parents manage, get good grades, don't get in trouble, drove myself to school, and while waiting for my SPM results, I got a good job as an assistant teacher at a private school. But I talk to myself all the time, I have low self esteem and I don't have friends (like seriously, I'm really bad at making friends. All my friends are fandom-based, but whenever I try to talk about non-fandom-related things, they don't reply) and that just makes me feel like the biggest failure ever. I hate it when people criticise me because I've already done my best and I don't know what else to do.

tl;dr: I hate myself what else is new on the Internet.

I have no friends. :( I have like two or three people that I hang out with maybe twice a month if everyone isn't busy but other than that all I got is my family. I'm pretty much a friendless, loveless loser who works a lot.

Inspired by the Tumblr SJW secret. I don't understand or take seriously the dozens of romantic identities on Tumblr. Genderfluid, aromatic, hard femme, and the other 30 constant changing identities. I think it takes away from real gender identities and just serves as proof to people that being gay/bi is something that is a choice (because many of these people change their identity weekly).

I'm starting to think I have serious commitment issues when it comes to relationships. My dad cheated on my mom, and after she got a divorce from him all she dated was loser after loser who were all abusive in one way or another. I didn't think much of it while I was in college and only having short flings. But now that I'm trying to stay in a serious relationship with a guy who is basically perfect for me, I find it difficult to do so.

I keep looking for a reason to break it off and not waste more time investing my emotions in him. I keep trying to search for some serious flaw that would show that he's not a great person and that I should leave. I know this is fucked up and paranoid, but I can't seem to stop myself from doing this.

I feel like people are judging what my sexuality is when I don't even know. I'm certain I'm straight even if I might fantasize about lesbians and gay guys but I'm sure people think I'm a lesbian when it's not true and I just want to be in a romantic relationship for the first time in my life.

Even when I'm pretty educated about a certain topic, I'm always, always afraid that I'm going to screw up something trivial when discussing it and sound like a dumbass and then this will lead to people thinking I'm a dumbass about everything and viewing me that way forever more.
