I really wish there was something like Yuletide but a promptathon. I love the idea of writing fics for small fandoms, but I'm not a good enough writer to sign up for exchanges. I love promptathons, though, where things are more low key.

My assignment was on a fandom I intentionally chose a weird character combination for so I didn't match on it. Fortunately, I got someone whose requests I can work with (and they wanted Any, so I'm probably not even going to write something about the characters I offered), so I'm going to be able to write them something. Right now I'm seriously considering something along the lines of Characters on Ice.

Tips For Giving a Cat Eye Drops

My poor old cat has an eye infection and that means I have to give him five drops a day. At first he was really chill about it but either he's feeling better or just plain seeing better, because he's fighting me now. Bless his furry little heart he never unsheathes a claw, but he struggles and blinks at just the worst moments, and we both get covered in steroid drops.

The most effective thing I did was pile onto him to get him to stay down flat while I angled his head toward me (this way he couldn't get too far), but I down want to lie down on the floor on my stomach, on a cat with only my cleavage keeping him from slipping away five times a day.

What are some shows/games/movies/books/etc that you miss? Perhaps new content stopped being produced or maybe the fandom has died down.

I miss two things a lot. The first if Breaking Bad. It was such an awesome show and I loved watching it. Though, I am glad it ended and didn't spiral into terribleness.

The second is an online game called Glitch. It was a very casual, side scrolling MMO. But it was so much fun and the community was great! I recently went back on the website to re-listen to the music and it made me all nostalgic.

What do you all miss?

Okay, so I'm not really into the Marvel universe fandom, but I sell a lot of doujinshi, and like 90% of the Bucky and Steve stuff is Bucky/Steve both before and after the time skip.

I don't get it, I kind of figured Captain America would be on top. He's Captain America, man. What am I missing here? Usually I have a pretty good radar for these things (that like 99% of the Thor doujinshi I sell are Thor/Loki and not Loki/Thor is the opposite of surprising, for example). But this surprises me.

Food and cold weather

I seriously could eat 3 warm meals a day now (I'm not going to, because I don't want to gain the weight I lost, but it sounds great).

A while ago I read this hilarious story where Nick Fury goes to an elementary school and gives a not entirely age-appropriate lecture to a class full of kids (and I seem to recall that the kids responded with snarky comments). Stupidly, I did not bookmark the fic, and now I can't seem to find the damn thing anywhere.

If anyone knows the title or can link me to it, that would be greatly appreciated!

So I'm one of "those" people

So I'm a pretty sensitive person, so maybe that's related to this, but, anyway, I'm one of those people who are overly sensitive about animals. I don't go off to people about it or anything, but treating non-human animals like their lives have no value or that they are lesser or worthless makes me sick and upset. Every life is valuable to me. People seem to get really upset at people who feel this way, and I've gotten some really mean comments for telling people I find seeing pictures of dead things upsetting and disgusting. I just don't understand how anyone couldn't feel the same.

I guess the reason I'm even mentioning this is because the other day I got exposed to watching someone trap kill an animal on the T.V. and my anxiety got bad and I got so upset and it was just horrible, and now I keep hearing these commercials about killing mice (mouse traps maybe? I don't know I don't watch T.V. my parents just have it on all the time) and it's making me upset to have to listen to, like they are making it into a joke or something like it's just so casual. I'm starting to just get tired of getting upset every day while other people just seem to not bat an eye at anything.

I guess the point of this is, I want to know, do you feel like every life is valuable, or am I a crazy person? Or are the people who don't bat an eye at death the crazy ones? Man I don't even know why I'm putting this out in public. Sorry.

And I just managed to write a convincing letter of motivation explaining why directing theatre plays totally qualifies me to be a hotel receptionist.
