What's the point of icons that are basically just cropped screenshots of characters' faces?

I understand if it's a particularly poignant screenshot or a character has a telling expression on their face or something, but otherwise... I don't get it.

Cult-like communities

Inspired by a thread I saw a couple of days ago, I think everyone who has spend some time online has been unfortunate enough to learn about a community that was practically a cult. I'm not talking about your basic tumblr bullshit, but about usually closed communities and cliques that become legitimately hurtful for their members, to the point that you start fearing for people's safety.

F!S Blast from the Past is Back

So...I'm still not out of our first year with F!S index, but I'm back at it again, so I thought this would be a good time to revisit some old secrets. I figure, I'll probably do this on my weekends (Tues/Wed) and include three secrets from Ye Olde Fandom Secrets. One will be based on live-action media/people/music, one based on drawn or CG media, and one that is more general fandom than fandom-specific.
