Supper or dinner

I'm American, from the East Coast. I call the meal eaten in the evening "dinner," but several of my friends say "supper."

Someone told me that in some places "dinner" is eaten in the middle of the day (what I would call lunch), so it makes sense for those people to call the evening one something else. But my friends who say "supper" call the midday meal "lunch" like I do.

So, what do you use? Dinner or supper? Is dinner eaten at midday or in the evening?

I'm from Massachusetts, and I use "dinner" for the evening meal and "lunch" for the midday one. I've never used "supper" for anything.

Texan here, and dinner is the evening meal. Sometimes my older relatives will call it supper interchangeably, but dinner has always been the evening meal.

Dinner. I've lived in the US South 90% of the time and never heard a single soul call it supper.

So I just got a refund check from school that was higher than I was anticipating. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought something just for fun, so I'm having trouble narrowing down ideas. I'm willing to spend up to $30. :D

I've never seen 10 seconds of The 100, but thanks to a few tumblr posts on my dash this week, welp, I ship Abby/Kane now. Today, I've spent two hours looking through tumblr posts and reading fic for them, and they're hitting all the right buttons for me. Don't really have any plans to watch the show, though!

Likewise Frank/Karen on Daredevil. Loved the first season, haven't seen the second, but I eat up all the Frank/Karen fic I can find.

Writing advice!

Well, not about the writing, but about the computer.

So probably... five years ago? I was one of those people who actually bought a Netbook. I've always had larger laptops because I do some gaming, and my big laptop is always my internet laptop, too. I wanted something small and portable - like, that could fit in my handbag, and I didn't want to hook it up to the internet at all because I have a lot of trouble with getting distracted and zoning out on the internet. So, a netbook was perfect for me. I could bring it anywhere and write a few words when inspiration struck, and I was only going to use it for the word processor. Not to mention, the largest perk of having a "low-functioning" computer is the immense battery life - mine could last for 9 and a half hours.

However, yesterday, I realized it wasn't charging properly, and I think the charger is dead. Replacing it is easy enough, but I wonder if I shouldn't upgrade. The poor thing is getting pretty slow, and I wouldn't mind something with a little more capability.

As I understand, though, Netbooks are a thing of the past. Ultra-portable computers are basically iPads now with keyboards. I don't like touch screens and I don't like the price tag that comes with tablets, and I want battery life.

What do you guys use for writing? Are any of you like me, and if so, what kind of computer do you use for writing? Any recommendations?

So I'm going to a wedding in like a week and a half and I have no idea what I'm going to wear.

My mom said she plans on wearing a nice blouse and dress pants (it's a family friend getting married and I'm going with my parents) but I feel like a dress is more appropriate. I only have two formal dresses, though, and neither is appropriate (one is black and one is white/black patterned). I'm not sure what color to go with (the wedding colors are pink and gray so I'm assuming those are out) or where to even begin looking for one (I haven't bought a dress in forever and don't remember where the two I have came from).

Anyone have any ideas of what stores to check? What color to look for? Or what I should wear if you don't think I should wear a dress for whatever reason?

Not sure if you know this, but Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt is a short story, only 4,000 words. So you guys could probably read the runner up book as well. Plus some people might not want to spend 2.99 for something that short.
