144. I'm not in bandom, but meeting someone wouldn't make me stop writing rpf. If you already know a person is real, what does meeting them do? Make them more real and suddenly squicky to be written about? Certain things do make people go "come back, fourth wall!" but if you're already writing/reading rpf I don't see how meeting someone is going to suddenly make you unable to do that.

170. That's the nature of fandom, period; it's hardly exclusive to slash. People will ship everything, whatever they like -- and there's nothing wrong with that -- and I don't see why other people continually only pick out slash for this.

102-Oh god yes, I was so happy when it came out on dvd because I owned all the videos which didn't include the first four episodes which are without a doubt the best part. Kit is one of my favorite characters and I love his relationship with Baloo and I don't care that its Disney, its real and hard and complicated.

116-I've run Larps and tabletops and I know all the drama in them, mods just have it one level harder because of the distance between them and their players.

134: I never understood why some people who claim to be feminist believe it is wrong to want to marry? Or even want someone to sweep them off their feet? Why is so wrong to want a love interest to help you out of jam that you are stuck in?

I was under the impression that feminist where advocating the rights for women to be whatever they wished to be without constraints enforced by men. Sadly it seems that some feminism holds themselves back because of expectations they feel they have to live up to because they are feminist.

Well, how can you not? Everyone who chooses to identify as anything experiences a tension between what they state their values are and something that they like that is outside what would be the acceptable perimeter. It's not love and marriage that's the issue, but the specific "cinderella story," which many feminists have called problematic, that needs to be reconciled. Personally, I don't think that's particularly difficult to reconcile, but surely you can understand the pressure of having to be a good such-and-such by only doing or liking certain things?

119 - That is one of my biggest pet peeves. Fair enough to say some things, but if someone is saying it's crap or is always saying they don't think it's very good, I immediately think they're an attention seeker and it's way more likely that I won't look at whatever it is they've done.

122 - I *always* loved him. I didn't even realise people didn't until the film came out and he was posed as annoying and the big bad guy. I still like him to this day, it was always my favourite when it was both Scooby and Scrappy. He's a puppy, how can kids not like him? :(

Although signs show things going differently, I hope they stay together in Edinburgh. And 106, I'm sorry you feel you can't talk to your friend about it. All of my friends are finally starting to watch Spaced, which I'd like to attribute to my screaming about the show for the past decade. (It's probably due to the new DVD set.) But there's nothing like having a room where you can say "Babylon 5 is a big load of shit" and have people respond with "aaaaaaay!" rather than punching you directly in the face.

And Buzzcocks? Well, that's the only show on television that routinely makes me laugh like a drain. Let me posit something: if your friends are into Grey's Anatomy and you watch (good) British shows...maybe you need a new circle of friends. Or at least a supplementary one.
