I feel you, nonnie! I’ve run into this so many times and sometimes I can just excuse myself or stop replying if it’s online, but it’s a common occurrence at work where I can’t do that. I have a friend and we're absolutely not interested in each others very different fandoms right now, but I yammer at her about mine and she yammers at me about hers, and even though I have no interest I ask questions to see what she likes about it and to enjoy the fact that she enjoys it. I send her memes about her fandom that I run into. And she does the same for me. It's part of being a friend...

The feeling of "clearly doesn't matter to them who is on the other end" is what really gets me when this happens. I mean, it's great if you've established that talking at one another about your interests while the other one waits until it's their turn to talk is just how your friendship works (like some anons above), but in my experience, most people talk to other people in order to have a conversation, not a one-sided info dump.

Especially when the other party(ies) have made it clear that they're not interested, have politely attempted to change the subject multiple times (or even succeeded, but the Talker hijacks the topic as soon as possible to change it back to their special interest), and the Talker just keeps... going. Do they not like these other people or enjoy their company? Do they not think of them as friends and want them to have a good time and also hear what they have to say about things?

You're turning into one of those old people everyone ducks out to avoid so they won't get trapped in a droning hour-long conversation about nothing, and you're in your prime, goddamn.

I really liked her character and was a bit disappointed they didn’t make a Skipper doll of her. That would’ve been cute.

I loved that she is not the focus. I love that it's about her mom, and she gets a little bit of character development wrt respecting her mom, but she's not a Barbie fan and this movie isn't about her. Love it.

I mean...I would never have invited an Nazi propagandist like Leni Riefenstahl to my studio, because I wouldn't have watched Triumph of the Will and been like...yeah I like where Germany is going, how good of Leni to do the bidding of the government so well. Certainly wouldn't have kept the invitation after Kristallnacht. That doesn't beat the charges for me.

look, people had divergent experiences with Disney, so you can believe what you want. I just don't see the reason to give a white christo-fascist the benefit of the doubt (yes I'm quite comfortable with wealthy christian control-freaks who desire more than anything to build company towns which adhere to their societal standards christo-fascist; it's like a key sign). like just being quieter than Ford isn't less suspicious to me when they're close friends and have similar views in every other respect lmao.

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best.

Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made. I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!
