My mother wants to have me diagnosed for Asperger's Syndrome. I'm really torn about it. I don't have IRL friends I could discuss it with and I'm so wary of discussing this topic with online friends--after all "everyone knows there are no Aspies on the internet, only assholes hiding behind a false disease": what if they believe this bullcrap?

So, my boyfriend got a speeding ticket on the way to his uncle's funeral (82 in a 70), and neither one of us realized it at the time, but that's a criminal misdemeanor in VA (anything over 80, apparently).

When I googled, most people are saying that the only way to get the charges lowered is to get a lawyer for his Thursday court date, but 1) the court date is this Thursday and 2) we don't have the money for that anyway.

Has anyone had any luck with this in Virginia? It was in southern VA, if that makes a difference. I'm freaking right the fuck out right now, and any advice would be helpful.

Correction to yesterday's post- as has been pointed out, I did make a mistake- the picture of a fig parrot was not, inf act, a fig parrot. This, however, is.

Anyway, today's post covers geckoes! These very noisy lizards are generally found in the warmer parts of the world- they don't do very well in cold weather at all. Their name is taken from their unique and distinctive call, which- you guessed it- sounds kind of like they're going EEEK-OH repeatedly. It may sound cute, but when you're being bombarded by tons of them being very loud, it can get a little annoying.

Still, they're pretty cute animals! There are so many species that they display tremendous variation, and adult geckoes can, depending on what type they are, be anywhere from about an inch to 24 inches in lengh. If you ever see a gecko licking its eyeball, that's because it's keeping it clean and dust free, all the better to spot delicious food with.

I've been thinking about it...and the last book in the series was really the only one where I didn't guess everything that was going to happen. I'm actually shocked Paolini didn't have Eragon and Arya get together in the end. I was even more shocked that he allowed Murtagh to live (Murtagh<3) And I also assumed Roran would be king, so it was sort of nice Nasuada ended up becoming the ruler.

But that finaly battle...Galbatorix really was a very lame villain. Dying by sadness...a new low.

SO HAPPY. Found a woman who, with some friends, has just started a rescue for my county. I posted about Mama cat (who apparently got attacked by a dog last week, and whose leg was messed up) and she messaged me with her phone number and came to my house *that night* to get Mama and the kittens.

So wonderful. I'm beyond grateful, and as there is *no* shelter in my area that takes cats, she and her friends are going to be overwhelmed. Their number one priority is getting a low cost/no cost spay/neuter clinic up and running.
