I think this concisely sums up a major problem in today's society. People are so entitled, they feel they have to make everyone accept everything about them. So you have to accept all this crap people say, even if it isn't right or gets in the way of what you want.

Why are people today so entitled that they think every "lifestyle choice" they make needs to be respected? And why is everyone so weak and emasculated that they accept this kind of entitlement? Just ignore their worthless excuses, their "demands" for respect and do what you know is correct.

seriously TMI question

Sorry FS, this is a super awkward question but bear with me. I think I have a zit on my, uh, ladyparts, and it's kinda freakin' me out. It's on my outside lips, so it's not in a super danger zone or anything, but I am still worried. Is this even remotely normal? Do I just wait for it to go away....? I'm 90% sure it's not indicative of an STD, but I'm still a little concerned.

Skinny Minnie Controversy

This November a new ad campaign is coming out. Basically Minnie and friends go to a dream world where they're all models. They made them very tall, and the women very, very, very, very skinny. People are crying out because they feel it's giving the wrong impression to little girls.

Your thoughts? Minnie is an average character IMO, so I could see why this might effect some small girls.

Pop/upbeat music recs?

So, my mom does scrapbooking, and she's hosting a big weekend thing for a bunch of people to get together and scrapbook with her. And she needs background music, of the sort of trite repetitive pop nonsense that gets played five times an hour on the radio.

Now, I don't actually know much of this type of music, because I have taste. But the thing is, it makes great background work music because it's upbeat and has (mostly) non-offensive lyrics

Any recs? I was trying MLP fandom music, because it's all basically free, but there isn't a whole lot of pop there, or at least none that I can find. And obviously a room full of 40- or 50- or 60-something women don't think MLP is cool or interesting. Which is a long way to say, please help?

Genuine Question about Slash

Okay, first of all, I'm not a troll. I just would like something explained to me.

I'm a straight female, and I only like het pairings. I used to assume that slash was preferred by gay people. I know, I know! Don't attack me. I know better than to assume something like that now. But I still don't quite get it.

As a straight woman, with het pairings I can sort of live vicariously through the female in the pairing. I can pretend I am her. Slash pairings just don't interest me.

So, my question, I guess, is what is so appealing to slash pairings to so many straight females? A lot of people on my flist are into slash pairings, and I don't want to ask them, because I don't want to offend anyone.

I'm not being judgey, I just don't understand. Explain, please?
