My mom and I both love to watch Tabitha Takes Over, even though I know its intellectual value is basically nil. (Secret that I'd make if I weren't so lazy: I watch it mostly because Tabitha is very Domme-ish.)

I think I'm in the minority. I only read long multi-chapter fics if they're for a ship that's hard to find and/or the author is really good.

Jason Collins - First Openly Gay Active NBA Player

This morning Jason Collins - a center in the NBA - became the first male athlete in a major sport to come out of the closet while an active player. Here's the piece at Sports Illustrated in which he announced it:

Thoughts? Reactions? Opinions?

One of the things that I've found interesting and really good about this is that the reaction to Collins coming out has been for the most part overwhelmingly positive. There's been a few idiots on Twitter, you have people like Chris Broussard being asses (and mostly being shouted down for it), but for the most part, the reaction has been enthusiastic and encouraging from pretty much everyone, from institutions to players to the media to fans. It's really great, and hopefully will lead to more pro athletes coming out of the closet.
