I don't think I've ever related to an anime character (South Italy/Italy Romano from Hetalia) more in my life.
The reason: My job (special education aide) toward the end of this last school year, always, always made me feel like shit. The teacher never listened to my concerns, I felt like I was beating my head against a wall, and literally half the staff made me want to choke them. Everyday I wanted to snap at people, or I wished the school would burn down so I wouldn't have to go to work. The only reason I didn't quit was because I was hoping next year (that is, this upcoming year) would be better, not to mention that decent paying jobs when you don't have a college degree are few and far between in my shithole of a town.

Looking back on that anger, I saw and still see a lot of Romano in myself. Now, I'm worried that even with a new teacher, it'll be the same way. Another school year of feeling like Romano acts every fucking day will be the end of me.

I don't really understand fangirling. I never develop crushes. I appreciate beauty, but not in a sexual way. Classmates, celebrities, book characters, TV characters, it doesn't matter. My ovaries remain unfazed.

So I'm not in the DR2 fandom (read the LP for the first game, only started on the one for DR2), but I'm going to guess this is referring to one of two interpretations:

- People hating on her for being weak/clumsy/girly/whatever

- People holding her up as perfect and tearing down others when they show any sign of disliking her, even if complaints are valid.

OP, I'm so so sorry you had to put up with that. It's inexcusable for anyone, brony or not, to treat another fan of something they like like that.

But I'd have to agree with you on the "Boy's Club." I too am a female fan of the show, but I don't make this known to anyone aside from other female fans and my own family. The treatment I've seen male fans give to female ones is, for lack of a better word, disgusting. Someone will probably step up and disagree with me, and they've probably had different experiences than me, but the majority of the male/female interaction in this fandom I've seen is negative (just look at a lot of the fandom drama).
