The 40 Days of Life protest has started at our local women's clinic. This clinic is the only one in the state, so it gets a lot of attention from the crazies. I do volunteer escorting there (sort of, help block off the protesters and get the woman safely in and out of the clinic). As much as I genuinely want to be of service, I mostly just like going and hanging out with the other escorts.

And watching just how crazy those pro-lifers can get. I don't necessarily judge people who feel abortion is wrong (unless they actively try to take those rights away from women) but it's insane what these protesters will do. Sometimes they throw holy water at us. but the worst is when the nearby private schools bring classes of children to come pray FOR EXTRA CREDIT. wtf.

but it's kind of like watching a train wreck, idk, can't look away and I keep coming back for more.

Took him to the vets finally. They said it was dislocated, and there wasn't much they could really do after the time that had already passed. They also told us even if we had gotten him in right away, there was a big chance resetting it wouldn't do much good. Apparently when something gets dislocated in a dog it re-dislocates itself really easily after that? They gave us some meds for inflammation and pain, and said if he doesn't get better on his own after a while they can try more invasive things, but they really want to see if it will sort itself out first.
I'm still a worried about him but the meds are already helping his pain a lot.

If you're new to F!S, hello! My name is cuteanimalpics, and I post pictures of cute animals. One comment will be the cute animal of the day, and the other will be pictures of spiders that I think are cute! The summary and AN of a fic implied that 1)all bottoms are submissive and 2)that a specific character wouldn't normally bottom but these were special circumstances. I was bothered by both, but especially the first. Lots of couples have sex without falling into the dom/sub roles at all, nevermind topping from the bottom (which I don't know if the author even knows is a thing).

I wasn't inflammatory or condescending and never implied that I was offended. The author took it better than the beta did, but they both missed my point. The beta actually said to me "...I don't consider anybody bottoms or tops. It is just sex..." and "...you should probably just let go of labels and read it."

So what would you have done if anything?

I was thinking of posting anon, but fuck it.

As some of you know, I've been jobless for a year, and there's pretty much just nothing in my field. So I buckled, and accepted a stupid call-centerish job, which is basically making appointments for bank clients over the phone (I'm an introvert, and hate being on the phone). It's also totally below my abilities and the pay is shittier than my last job. The only good part is I get to sleep in and/or do freelance stuff in the morning, because it only starts in the afternoon.

I should feel happy, really, and I feel like I'm ungrateful (a friend actually pulled some strings for me at a temp agency, and the woman who will be my direct superior is actually really nice, so work circumstances could be worse). But basically my main thought is: I hope I won't be stuck there a year from now. So sigh...the money will be good, but I really have mixed feelings.

I don't know what it is, but Hannah annoys me. Maybe it's that when she was introduced it was almost like a fantasy- sexy black widow in short shorts. You know that cliche? The 'sexy jailbait badgirl' cliche? I feel like THAT'S how Hannah was written at the get go. And then it was like they decided, 'Wait, what if Hannah was just, like, a victim, which makes everything she's done FINE and now Dexter can have a girlfriend?' and I don't buy that Hannah's NOT an asshole. I mean, she POISONED a woman to inherit her greenhouse. That wasn't done to save herself. That was coldblooded greed. Now it's like they decided, 'Wait, wouldn't she be a perfect wife option for Dexter? She could, like, make FOOD and watch Harrison and be SUPPORTIVE' and that's just...I honestly couldn't remember if Hannah had ever MET Harrison before. That just bugged the shit out of me throughout the 8th season.

I mean, couldn't they have killed Hannah instead of Deb? It's clear they wanted to kill someone Dexter loved but UGHHHHH.
