I get you, OP! I like seeing people earnestly, unabashedly, and unironically loving stuff, with all the enthusiasm and goofiness that entails. It's refreshing!

I also like getting in to that headspace, myself. It's one of the things that makes life awesome, and missing out on it by acting "cool" all the time is just dumb. You only come this way once, so dork the fuck out! <3

Yeah, he was pretty nice. But I think "House" has influenced a lot the last adaptations of the character.

If this is the book I think it is, yeah, I can't imagine many 'new fans' liking it much at all. Has it been re-released? If it's the one I'm thinking of, I read it in hardcover back in the 90's, and the sequel novel, too, and very much enjoyed them.

Then again, my favorite Holmes is still the one portrayed by Frank Langella on stage.

This is the reason I often don't look up pictures of characters in fandom. Often I don't remember exactly what they look like, just an idealized vision in my head. And that is what I want to keep imagining damnit. D:
