To be fair, figure skating is EXPENSIVE. You have to pay for coaching, for rink time/access, costumes/equipment, transportation... and then you still need money to live on when you're training. It's entirely possible that he might have luxury clothing given to him by sponsors, but not enough money to sustain a skating career.

His remarks about the Sochi protesters weren't good. I think perhaps his obsessive love for Russian culture combined with his relatively protected and privileged position is blinding him to the big picture.

Wait, what's the criteria for "most misogynist" here? Or is there something about Escapist forum culture I'm not aware of, because I'd argue RPG Codex is the most misogynist (they're basically what you'd get if Stormfront was about video games and not race.)

The relative percentage is probably no worse than the average fandom, but in terms of absolute numbers, yeah, I'd guess there's a lot.

(Just looking at Ao3, Movies > Avengers (Marvel Movies), 85% of the fics are marked as complete. (Sherlock - which has 20K more fics -- has about the same percentage, GoT is at 80%, and Doctor Who and Related Fandoms is @90%)
