I am running a 8K tomorrow. I'm always nervous before a race. Will I hurt myself, can't finish it or do poorly? I've done 5Ks before but the 8K is a first.

Does anyone have pre-race rituals? Or just don't think about it and just go?

Need a Little Input

Last week I met up with people I trained with for the first time in six months. All really great contacts, and to an extent friends (we spent ten hours a day together for six months, and are all very similar backgrounds/age profiles).

Well I'd gone out drinking with work colleagues earlier that day, and after a couple hours and bottles of rum, with drinking games, they ended up calling an ambulance to take me to A&E. Apparently I was fine right up to the point where I went to the kitchen, then couldn't get up.

I'm seeing them again in a couple days. How do I recover from this fairly substantial faux pas?

I will be cleaning out my storm shelter for the upcoming summer months. Hopefully I won't have to use it. I may also treat myself because I got a raise at work (a complete surprise!).

i know there's only been two episodes as of today, but man, those 2 eps were freakin great.

first, the show's beautiful. i mean, the setting is beautiful, the sets are beautiful, the clothes are beautiful.. heck, even the damn props look good! and the music, too. this show's got such a wonderful vintage look to it, it's awesome.
it's also hilarious. in a very, very dark way. it's really not for everyone, but personally i found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. it's fucked up, it knows it's fucked up, and it's not ashamed of it, not one bit.
and it has completely redeemed martin freeman in my eyes. i was a bit disappointed after the third season of sherlock and the desolation of smaug failed to live up to my expectations, and i had forgotten how good he can be. i know people are gonna say "sure, regular prissy guy whose world is turned upside down all of a sudden? sounds like martin freeman alright", but i think he's really at his best here. he goes through so many different facial expressions, it's amazing.

tl;dr : this show's not for everyone, but i love the shit out of it.
tl;dr summary of the show: a random guy walks into a small country town and messes with people. hilarity (and death) ensues.

Ahahaha wow maybe I'm just really bad at predicting plot twists but DANG I sat there gaping for like a minute after I finished. That is some game of thrones level betrayal right there. I haven't even looked at part two yet, I'm saving it for tomorrow, but I'm really intrigued and excited to see what direction the book takes after this!
