Favorite Fandom-related Tumblr blogs

So

I haven't been much into Tumblr. I mostly thought of it as either a social justice place or a place where people posted fandom gifs. But lately, mostly since discovering that most of the Silmarillion fandom is on Tumblr, I've been getting into it more. There seems to be a lot of actually non-gif related fandom content, and I'm loving it.

What are your favorite blogs there? Mine in the next comment.

I look at chrissamnee.tumblr.com so much. He's a comic book artist who is always posting not only his art but his inspirations. And I have discovered so many artists through him.

After finishing one pack, can I start taking the next pack before the seven day break is over, in order to end my period early? Or will that mess up their effectiveness?

So either the movie listings are glitched somehow, or Fifty Shades of Poorly-Written Abusive Bullshit Marketed as Healthy BDSM is literally the only thing playing in the movie theater near me this entire weekend. For one, wow. For two, how is the movie even related to the holiday? Can people still not differentiate between sex (which 50 Shades is supposed to be about) and romance (which Valentine's Day is supposed to be about)? And for three, wow. Terrible move, cinema.

I have some spare time coming up and I kind of wanted to go see a movie or two, but that one was never remotely under consideration. Sigh.

Hey, how about a thread for hard-to-find fandoms? Like, say you're looking for a book fandom, you can post with the title of the media in the subject line and hopefully you'll get a response.

People who travel/People who live in NYC or DC

As some people may have seen, I am hoping to take a trip with my sister to NYC and Washington D.C. in 2016 (probably early May). And while that is far away, I am starting to get some planning done now because this will be the first trip I have ever planned myself (and to the biggest city BY FAR).

shortysc22 has been giving me some good advice and I just wanted to see if there is anyone else here that I can bother for the next year or so with questions.

These are some places I know I want to visit in NYC.
-Jewish Heritage Museum
-Museum of Moving Image
-American Museum of Natural History
-Bronx Zoo
-Minskoff Theatre (Lion King showing)

I have not looked at stuff for DC but I know I want to go to some of the Smithsonian stuff.

So, any advice would be awesome. I'll need to figure out public transportation (I have never been in a city big enough to have it). If you have any hotel recommendations (safe, clean, and around $300 [or less]), those would be great. Also, any cool places we should see or eat at!

Romance Question!

Birth control anon from above. I (very wrongly, and stupidly) assumed I could end my period early by taking my next pack of bc early. I am also completely crud at dating and romance, and I need advice. The guy I'm seeing invited me to his place on Valentine's Day, I agreed, and the unspoken presumption (I'm assuming) is that we're going to have sex for the first time. But I'm guessing I'm still going to be on my period then. How do I smooth this awkward situation over, and not ruin Valentine's Day?

Why is this the new slang. I hate it. It's always used for good things (trash for liking a character?) and minor 'bad' things (bath bombs = trash?).

This makes me feel icky and wince. Just not a nice word. :(
