I hate videos that start playing when you scroll past them. If I want to watch a video, I'll click it. All the ads on Facebook do this now, plus people keep posting videos like this on FB and tumblr, so even using adblock wouldn't get rid of the damn things.

I know you can stop the video by clicking on it, but it always freezes up my computer first. And as soon as it unfreezes, the ad starts going again, and freezes it again.

I also hate when people have music start playing automatically on their Tumblr blog (or any website, but Tumblr is the biggest offender right now). I opened a Tumblr blog one night and it started blasting Miley Cyrus at about a thousand decibels and someone was asleep in the next room, so apparently I need to make sure I have my sound turned off before opening a new blog.

Dapper Brides and thoughts on clothes

I'm hesitant to make this post because "Oh, you poor cis, straight girl, life must be so hard!!" but Buzzfeed just did a post about dapper brides who wore suits down the aisle, and I was really excited for it, because should I ever meet someone who loves me and wanted to marry me, that would totally be my look. But then I was disappointed that all the brides were lesbians.

I mean, don't get me wrong, that's AWESOME, but it just...made me feel lonely (lonelier than a post about happy people get married, that is), because sure, it's acceptable for me, a woman, to wear pants, but as soon as my personal style goes farther than society likes for cis, straight people, all of a sudden my gender and sexuality are called into question.

Like, my clothes are just the things that cover my body, and these are the clothes that speak to me. Why can't it just stop there?

How exactly do things like google analytics and the auto-search finisher thing work, does anyone know?

Context for my specific dumb question - every once in a while I google my fan-created stuff via a couple short keywords to see if it's gotten rehosted somewhere without my consent or to see (hopefully) if maybe I got a rec somewhere that I hadn't known about.

Lately, and intermittently, I've had this one work come up in the google box auto-finished in a way that I have absolutely never typed. (I use title fragments and character keyword. Google sometimes gives me the whole title including my creator tag) Is it just a random algorithm or what? I assume so, but it's been very slightly weird.

Most memorable imagery in fiction?

What images have been the most memorable to you in fiction? I don't mean a full scene per se, but just the imagery - could be some kind of landscape, a really terrifying or passionate moment, something eerie. Beautiful, unsettling, whatever. I don't necessarily mean shock gore or whatever but something that really moved you, for better or worse.

Could be from movies, games, anime, whatever. Even books, if you feel the way it was written described the composition of what was happening enough for it to stick out to you.

Good sources for British TV shows?

Does anyone know of good sources to find British tv shows (or tv shows in general). I became obsessed with Judge Rinder (I love judge shows), but my previous source for episodes disappeared. And there do not seem to be any good torrent sites that have torrents for any shows that aren't ones a lot of people watch. All the private sites seemed to have dies, there are only the bigger sites left and they never have what I'm looking for.

I'd be happy just to be able to watch, but I can't even find sites to watch things anymore.
