I'm making a thread to check in on a couple of anons who posted recently about some upsetting stuff happening; feel free to use this thread to check in on anyone you're thinking about, or to post updates if you've got them!

I think the psychiatrist I'm visiting hates me.

I visited a psychiatrist 3-4 weeks ago for depression. He gave me Lexapro. I had sort of a bad reaction to it - manic symptoms, reckless behavior, problems with memory and mood, etc. While on the Lexapro, I called his office complaining about it several times. I cancelled an appointment on a whim, made a new appointment on a whim, etc.

There are also huge problems with my insurance - it doesn't cover psychiatry or meds. I have been having financial problems. The last time I visited him, to switch meds, all he talked about was the money, which made me mad. Mood swings from the Lexapro weren't helping with the anger. He told me to find a counselor to do therapy with and not do anything with him.

I think he wants nothing to do with me. My new medication, Wellbutrin, is giving me the same sort of symptoms, but I can't talk to him. I feel like I'm going completely crazy. Any advice? I don't have any idea how to manage this.

Looking for a book.

I checked out a fantasy novel from the library a few years ago. It was a hardback edition and the first in a series of at least two books.
The main character was a woman. She was not human, but similar to one and she was very small. When other characters were riding horses, she had to use a pony. Her brothers were out working in the fields (I believe it was harvest time), when some other creatures attacked and kidnapped them. In their society, women had to abide by rules like not being able to leave the village without a male escort. The main character leaves to try to find her family. She joins a group that included a woman and her daughter who were both witches (they could do magic, might have been called something else). The mother knew she was going to die if she did a certain thing (something about a door maybe), and had accepted her fate. The daughter knew about it and was very standoffish and upset. I think there was something about a man, possibly a magician, who lived in a tree (it worked kind of like the TARDIS, bigger on the inside), but that is hazy and could be in a different book.

Random Question - Alerts on iPhone

This week has been crazy with weather: tornado sirens and flash flooding. There was a Starbucks that got flattened up in Kokomo, IN which is an hour north of me on Wed (or was it Thurs, mind slipping).

My alerts on my iPhone should be on. I check and the green part is showing. So dumb question: if I see the green, does that mean it's on?

And if it is on, why didn't I get tornado warnings or flash flood warnings blaring out of it?
