Amending Taxes

I got back a corrected student interest loan payment. Before, I put it down as 0 but NOW I can put it down for almost $900. If I amend my taxes, that would give me an additional $250 back on my return. But I cannot figure out how much it would cost to amend my return. Or how hard the process is.

I moved states over last year, but only worked for like two months in the new state and don't have a new driver's license yet. can I still do my taxes. am I an illegal immigrant will Trump deport me back to minnesota

Had my withholdings as 'married filing jointly', for part of 2016, then switched to filing as 'single'. Zero deductions on both. Is there anything in particular I should do? Does it matter?

Reaching out to legislators

I live in a red state, and I've been trying to reach my senator all day to urge him not to approve Betsy Devos as education secretary, but the line is always busy. I want to be happy about that, but I'm afraid people are seeing all tbe same facebook posts I've seen that say "even if you're not from one of these states, call anyway" and actual constituents are being shut out by people this guy doesn't even have to pretend to care about.

So what do you guys think about appealing to lawmakers who aren't yours? I'm in this weird place where, outside of national, organized protests and marches, I don't like it, and I don't think it works, but at the same time, I've got no problem with out of state donations to support candidates a donor thinks would be best for the country.

I have never heard the advice to call people who don't represent you and I don't think it's a good idea. They represent the people who live in their state or district and that's who they're obligated to listen to.

When these people are asked where they're from, as these offices tend to ask when people call, are they lying and claiming they live in that state?

I've recently seen people saying to call no matter if they're your representative or not, and while I'm no expert, it just seems off.

I wouldn't call a congressperson who doesn't represent me. That seems ineffective because they're not required to listen to me. I did call mine because I work in special ed and Betsy Devos scares the shit out of me, but I couldn't get through. It's very frustrating.

This is just venting bc I don't want to talk about these girls irl bc that would be a bit mean but jfc.

Today I had a client come in to review a project. She brought her sixteen year old daughter with her ("it's her birthday!"), which is pretty normal. Her daughter had a friend with her and they were both polite, didn't intrude on the meeting or anything.

But, at a certain point they started rating how hot my crew is. They weren't, like, being loud about it or anything, but I unfortunately overheard a portion of the "scale of fuckability." Which, okay, fair enough, teen girls surrounded by rugged 20- and 30-something guys will have opinions on those guys. I don't really want to hear how my crew ranks, but it's fine.

Then birthday girl told her friend she wished I was her Daddy. D:
