The hell do sequels have to do with fandom? Coporations don't base their decisions to make a sequel based on how many fanfics it has or how big their subreddit is.

It is based on how many tickets they sell. And I guarantee the vast majority of people of people who see MCU/Harry Potter/Transformers movies are in any kind of fandom.

I mean. It's not fandom making the sequels. I think that Hollywood is more aware of fandom than they used to be in terms of catering to them. But the number of sequels of any given movie has always been determined by box office success, which isn't the same thing as a fandom following.

11 dead and the shooting is being investigated as a hate crime. Which I guess is a step up from labeling him as simply a whako. And yes, the shooter is another middle-aged white guy.

For years, I hardly got any trick-or-treat, then this year I moved to the other side of the neighborhood and was cleaned out of candy in half an hour! :( Now i hear all these kids walking by... I guess I should have expected that the area with the more affordable houses would have more kids in it.

Next year I will do better!

Stray cat anon from yesterday

I posted late last night and I’m about to do it again—the past couple days a friendly stray has been hanging around. Last night I think I found his owner’s lost pet posting, but when I went out to look for him where I’d seen him ten minutes before, he’d vanished.

This morning I left a voicemail, a text message, and an email with photos saying I’d seen him and where, but got no response. Tonight he was in my neighbor’s bushes, and I grabbed him and put him in my bathroom, much to his and especially my cat’s displeasure. The posting says his owners last saw him ten days ago about 2 miles from here.

I work tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday and don’t want to leave a random stray in my bathroom all day, much less for three days. How long should I keep him inside before taking him to a shelter? Our local one is actually no-kill and he’s very friendly; I’m sure he’s adoptable.

He’s got a pretfy distinctive face; I would be surprised if he’s not the cat I found a listing for, but I wish if he was the wrong cat the people who posted the listing would let me know. Argh. I guess I should go get him a litter box and hope he knows how to use it; he’d got a folded up blanket for a bed and some water and kibble. Now I just have to remember there’s a stray in my bathroom when I’m half asleep and gotta pee at 3:00am.
