Loki's cooler than BW anyways. Her and Hawkeye were the most boring parts of the Avengers.

Hawkeye was definitely boring as shit. Black Widow is okay to me. I would prefer they make a movie about a different heroine to be honest.

Agreed. I didn't like how they force fed us a het romance in a story that required no het romance. Remove BW and we have a movie I can happily watch (I'm willing to give hawkeye a chance, since we didn't see much of him, and what we did see was tainted by the "Natasha is my twu wuv" bullshit, aside from that I think he had potential).

BW is a boring shallow fanservice character. Best we can hope for out of a black widow movie would be on the level of charlies angels or tomb raider, but more than likely we'd get something like catwoman or electra. Comic book females are, mostly, not developed enough beyond shallow fap-fodder to produce a decent movie, and the men who make movies don't care enough about women to change that.

Came here to say "why not both?" essentially. I mean, of course I know the timeline of MCU releases means that there probably can't be both in the same time frame and that's what's causing "drama" but...I'd watch either because I like that universe. Also those two happen to be two of my favourite characters within it.

Though am also unsure if Loki would work without Thor showing up at some point. My favourite thing about The Dark World was every time they were on screen together.

i love Loki. but idek, i also liked Black Widow and even Hawkeye (even though they didn't really fit with the rest of the avengers imho). but yeah, if i were to choose i'd go with a Loki movie.

I fangirl Loki myself but I don't see how they could do a solo movie that would work or make sense, especially given the events of Thor 2. I'm also in the boat of not wanting Loki without Thor either.

I'd rather a prequel-thing(either a movie or a mini-series thing like the Peggy Carter one) from waaaay before the events of the first Thor film where the brothers+warriors three and Sif go out on adventures together, before everything goes wrong in their lives and turns to pain. I know we technically have that with Thor: Tales of Asgard(which I love) but I would love a live-action version for the MCU.

I would love to see a Thor movie that is centered on Loki and Thor and Asgard tbh.

Thing is, I read that Thor 3 is confirmed, but I only had 1 second of joy, and then I realized it's always going the same old shit: Jane and Thor trying to be a couple, Darcy being ohohsowitty, and Earth people being boring basically. I don't know if I can handle it again, honestly.

A Hiddleston!Loki movie can't be possible I think? Since he's the villain in all the movies... I suppose it would be a lot more interesting than a Thor movie, maybe they could finally have Thor in there too, without the usual humans.

I don't know guys, am I the only one who's seriously underwhelmed by the Jane plot line? As far as I'm concerned Thor has been reduced to an infinite otherworldly romantic escapade... I mean, he's almost immortal isn't he? Can't we, like, move forward or at least backward?

But not everyone likes Loki. Sure a huge portion of fandom does, but he's just like every other character in existence in that there are people who loathe him. I like him too but he's a dick and sometimes infuriates me, and I don't think I could spend two hours watching just him. He isn't even the focus of the other films and by the end of TDW I was done with his manipulation. So...idk, I'm sure there's TONS of people who wouldn't care and would love such a movie, but I would gladly take the Window film instead; it's something different. (I also don't see why people hate her so much, but eh...to each their own. IMO she was just as good as the other Avengers.)

I don't want this movie or that movie just to see people get butthurt. I just wouldn't want a Loki-cetric movie because he just doesn't fascinates me the way he does with like 90% of the Internet apparently. I like him, but he'd be less interesting without Thor.

Coming out of TDW, I actually joked that Loki needed a movie of his own so that he would stop stealing Thor's movies. But I've also wanted a Black Widow movie since The Avengers came out, so really, let's just have both, and people can Tumblr-savior whatever they don't like. (Or just stay off Tumblr entirely, since apparently it makes you hate everything.)

Like, really? What's preventing Marvel from doing both. Or just giving women more agency/representation in their movies as a whole?

Also this train of thought is kinda shaky. Loki's known for being a female-fan-favourite, so it's probably best not to knock on stuff like that.

(Basically what I'm saying - why not both - marvel should include more female characters, as well as characters that females like).

Gotta disagree. Natasha was my favorite character in The Avengers and my gateway to getting into superhero comics again. (I read a bit of X-Men when I was a teenager but then ignored the genre for 15+ years.) I like Loki, too, a lot, but I fangirl Natasha so hard that it's ridiculous.
