The biggest issue I had was that it seemed like Wilson's indictment was being run as an actual trial. Which is why I feel he got off without actually having to face a jury trial.

That said, I don't think he would have been convicted even by a jury trial -- the conflicting witness testimony and the support by the physical evidence would have cleared him or gotten him convicted of manslaughter at worst.

A trial would have been even longer and more drawn-out. I still think TPTB in Ferguson mishandled the announcement horribly, but a trial would have had the exact same outcome, if not worse.

When we first saw pictures of Wilson he didn't look great and the stereotype hick town cop.

Seeing the medical pictures with those complete dream boat blue eyes, slimmer look and finding out he's 6'4 has given me the weirdest crush.

Something I was thinking about last night, there were a lot of people on tumblr refusing to tag their Ferguson/Michael Brown stuff last night because it's important!

On the flip side, there were posts going around about how it's okay to block Ferguson/Michael Brown stuff if it's a trigger.

I don't have PTSD, but I do have anxiety issues, and things like Ferguson (the feeling of helplessness, mostly) really mess with me, to the point where I have physical reactions to it.

Would that be a trigger? Or, since it's just anxiety, is there a different word for it?

Kay, secret number 9 brought this on but I've been needing some commiseration for a while now.

I'm gonna be 26 tomorrow. I'm a virgin. I've never been kissed. I don't have any immediate plans to change that and don't think I would be quick to do it and have it over with. This is not a religious choice (well, having the thought that God might like it is a bit of it, but that's more of a perk than a factor), it's just how my life has been and how I feel about my own needs, circumstances and safety.

But every once in a while I just need someone else to say "me too". Especially when I'm in a group of people my own age. I don't hide the fact that I'm a virgin because I'm not ashamed of it and talk always turns to sex eventually in those kinds of gatherings. But I hate that most often the reaction from the girls is snide behavior like I'm judging them (what the fuck, it's your body and your decision, what's to be judgmental about?), and the boys suddenly deciding not to talk to me or weirder, to get all chivalrous. Like suddenly no one can say the words "doggy style" around my poor innocent ears. Years ago a friend told me that in her experience men treated virgins better and it seems kind of true and kind of disconcerting and gross.

Anyway, ramble ramble. Tell me I'm not alone?

Just something I'm wondering, given how pro-privacy some of this site is. I'm interested to see if anyone here really gets into the weird stuff.

Personally, I think the farthest I've gone is a porn forum that used No-IP. Nothing illegal, mind you, they just went for the nuclear option after Zetaboards ousted them for violating the no-sex rule. I don't think I'd recognize the dark web if it smacked me in the face.

What will pull you out of an otherwise good story? Anatomic impossibility? Certain phrasing? Really unfortunate typo?

For me, referring to eyes as "orbs" will do it. So will some of the basic biology fail that sometimes makes it into hurt/comfort stories. (Example: I once read a fic where a character was randomly sad and lost 60 pounds in 2 weeks. Also, febrile seizures almost never happen in adults unless they are already prone to seizures.)

Oh, also there was that fic where the author accidentally typed "lap" instead of "lab" multiple times. I think they may have been using voice to text, so easy enough, but for a mostly non-smutty fic, there were an awful lot of experiments taking place in people's laps. :)

Dark leg hair on light skin?

I have really dark leg hair, and somewhat light skin. Said leg hair also grows thick and fast. If I shave, I start seeing stubble again within about 12 hours, and it's still less than 24 hours if I use something like Nair - which I have to leave on for almost twice the recommended amount of time (thank god for my tough skin), and even then some hair is still clinging on for dear life after getting it off. Both options take a damn long time to deal with (shaving my legs is over 10 minutes each), and I am impatient and don't like spending lots of time on getting rid of my leg hair (but I also don't want to just wander around with hairy legs showing).

Most of the time, it's fine, because I always wear jeans and/or tights, anyway, even in summer. But soon I might have to start wearing a work-out uniform that would require me to wear shorts on a regular basis. Again, don't want to just wander around with hairy legs, because I find that ugly (even on guys, half the time, forget myself).

I'm thinking of bleaching my leg hair, but since my leg hair is black, I'm not sure how well that would go? Otherwise, I'm wondering what the fastest way of getting rid of leg hair actually us, and/or longest-lasting. Shaving and depilation cream both take too long (yes, I'm counting 20+ minutes on my leghair as too long) and neither lasts longer than a day before I start seeing stubble again. Any ideas?
