No videos in stream this week folks! There will be a stream, but it's of things that never happened, so I imagine well just sit around and stare at my computer's background since none of the things I"m playing existed. At least, that's what the fans of the larger series want to say! And since fans are always right, well, I got nothing to show you!

First in our non-list, the fictitious "beginning" of Star Wars! Annoying sidekicks! Stupid plot progression! The greatest villian of all time is now a little dork who wants to /ss/! NOT THE PHANTOM MENACE!

Then, a fantasy series doesn't become a sci fi series! From magic to not aliens out of nowhere! A movie that if it existed, even Sean Connery couldn't save! WE'VE NEVER HEARD OF HIGHLANDER II! (Just 1 and 3 and that crossover one for that matter. Weird how there's only 3 movies and they are titled so oddly)

Finally, the cream of the crop! The Shamalamaning of one of the greatest western cartoons ever made! Thank god this turd wasn't brought into existence! THE ABORTED MOVIE THE LAST AIRBENDER!

Half the time I have no clue what people are judging others to be, only that they're informing others of their judging capabilities.

Which characters would you argue could not be gender-swapped?

For me, the first thing that comes to mind is Riley from Inside Out. I find that story so deeply female (especially specific to that age) that I cannot imagine it going that way for a male character her age.

Apartment Questions

My situation is that I'm looking for an apartment, but it seems like nearly every place has terrible reviews. Or they range from "It's like living in heaven" to "There's rats and criminals on every floor".

I've visited a few places and they seem nice enough to me, but I'm wary about ending up in some terrible place. Any advice for apartment hunting?

Why is fandom secrets so racist against Europeans? They're often described as a monolith, and people generalise about their behaviour and culture in a way that certainly wouldn't fly with some other continents. What gives?

Context: I'm French; while in highschool I was taught decent amounts of Spanish (which, sadly, I've since forgotten), a bit of Latin, and laughably minimalist amounts of English. What I speak now I learnt by myself, after graduating, by reading comic books, fantasy novels, and on the internet.

Now I'd like to learn German and I figured that a self-teaching method and a dictionary won't be enough, I need a fandom to help motivate me. But I don't know where to start looking in the first place...

So. Can you rec me a few German books that would be easy to read and make a good basis for a fandom, please? Any genre you like, I'm not picky.

...and one of my professors. So I have this professor. She's a nice enough lady, but she's kind of getting on my nerves. The class is Youth Theatre, so we have to see a few children's plays over the course of the semester. I knew it was a long shot when someone asked if the university's production of Into the Woods could count as one; fairy tales or not, it's not really aimed at kids. Sure enough, she at first said no, but then changed her mind when a few more students said it would make things easier for them. Then someone asked if they could see The Phantom of the Opera. Without even hesitating, she said it was a wonderful play for children and that we should all go see it if we get the chance.
Don't get me wrong. I'm a crazy phangirl who's seen the show more times than there are students in the class, starting when I was 12. But I wouldn't by any stretch call it a children's play, certainly not moreso than Into the Woods. Yeah, I know a big chunk of the Phantom fanbase is teen girls, I was one. But still. Am I missing something?
