My fiance has a sort-of-friend who's in town through the holidays. Said friend is constantly, subtly an ass to me, though I don't think he's actually smart enough to realize he's being rude half the time. He's the classic stereotype of the gatekeeper geek, and his voice sets me on edge like nothing else.

I need to say something to him, or to my fiance, but I'm still shy enough that I feel awkward calling anyone out. :/ Still, this guy may be the only person I wouldn't spit on if he were on fire, so I should probably speak up one day.

Me, I'm agnostic and atheist but raised Catholic. I find that when I'm sufficiently upset or scared, I'll still cross myself or pray. I don't actively believe in anything at the moment, but the actions are somehow comforting to me.

Little Kids' Anime Shows

I've gotten pretty disillusioned about most new/current anime aimed for teens and up and/or aimed at niche audiences, except for the really good stuff, but I have a big soft spot for the humor and personalities in little kids' shows like Pokemon and still watch them for cheering-up purposes and the like, and was wondering if anyone had recs for others as well?

Resources for writing royalty?

I find that my biggest trouble is finding out what someone who's royalty actually DOES in their day-to-day activities. Googling for over a week only bring ups stuff I already found out (forms of address, positions, etc etc) but not actually say, what a king would do in daily life or the difference in duties between a firstborn and second born prince.

There are diaries and letters you could read. A lot of them are public domain and freely available now. It's going to vary a lot based on era and geographical location. What someone in medieval England did is going to be a lot different from someone in 20th century Russia or 20 BC China. Gender will also impact their daily activities.
