Awesome Stream 2: Scifi night!

The Search Pt. 1 [Spoilers Likely; Tread Carefully]

Continuing with things that people are likely to disregard as canon, The Search, sequel to The Promise, sequel to The Last Airbender series, has part one out today.

You have probably already seen a big spoiler - what do you think about it? Throws more established canon out the window, or opens more opportunities? Or both!

Skyrim Mods (and others, too, I guess)

Why is it that all the mods that are supposed to make the characters look "better" instead make them look weird and plastic? Also, why are there no mods to make the guys prettier? Ladies want some eye-candy, too!

Is the risk of serious/permanent injury worth doing something you love?

This is something I've been thinking about all day, so I was wondering what you guys think. I'm an Irish dancer, which as you may or may not know, is a competitive dance form and does come with a risk of injury. This morning, one of the dancers from my school commented on facebook how every once in a while, she'll discover that what she thought was simply chronic pain due to dancing was actually a serious injury-- the three she details are lumps on her arches and reduced flexibility in her toes due to blunt force trauma (likely from toe in hard shoe dancing) and ankle pain from walking and dancing on a broken fibula for over a year. One of the first comments was someone on her friends list calling her a fucking moron and telling her to stop dancing.

Basically, I'm wondering your guys' take on this. Reading his reaction, my first reaction was "He doesn't get it." Injury and chronic pain in higher-level Irish dancers isn't uncommon, and it's basically considered a part of life. Usually, the only solution doctors give is to stop dancing. Usually, the only result of this is that the dancer stops going to that doctor.

This is me speaking as a dancer, but oftentimes you can't help but feel like people don't get it-- yes, it's causing you pain, but you love dance so much that stopping isn't an option. It gets to the point where you sometimes see dancers re-injure themselves after taking time off because they start dancing too soon. One girl at my dance school has essentially been in a boot for the last six months because she dances on it before the fractures heal. Another girl has sprained her ankle probably ten times (I'm not exaggerating)and has had surgery on it twice. My mother looks on it as insane, while I see it as a part of the culture.

Still it gets to the point where you have to question--is it worth it? You can probably already tell that--being a dancer-- I don't have the most unbiased take on this. So, I'm wondering your opinion. Where do you draw the line? Is it even possible?
