Facebook and Google

Both are frustrating me so much - well, seems like every year they do something else absurd that offends me. I use Facebook, Gmail and Youtube. I am really pissed about Facebook eliminating the feature where only friends of friends could find your name. Among employers and co-workers, I often lied and said I did not have Facebook to avoid awkwardly saying I only use it for friends/family. Plus, with the horror stories of employers insisting that you add them and/or give them your password, ugh. Now with Google using all of our shit for advertisements, too, and requiring Google+ to post Youtube comments (Wtf?)... idk.

Can't any sites copy and replace these sites with better ethics, like how Dreamwidth did for Livejournal?

Some wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL anon gave me a link to a Brienne/Jaimie supercut from Game of Thrones. I watched it and this cemented my OTP of Lady Knight/One Handed Hobo. I am probably going to watch it again.

So anyone have any fic recs? Long ones preferably (but will take good PWPs). Really good AUs are fine. Any fics where Jaime chooses Brienne over Cersei, are A+.

No character death of Jaime or Brienne, idc about anyone else.

I don't care about being spoiled. I watched like the first 3 episodes and was 'meh' about the show, so I doubt I will watch it.

Also, if anyone has any like...videos that succinctly summarize each season/major plot points of GoT, that would be awesome. Or websites.

What are some instances where you honestly aren't sure whether something is fanon or canon, or which you were confused about for a while?

A couple days ago a colleague lost his shitty three pound hat. It's an entirely non-descript black pull down hat.

He found out he'd lost it when everyone in the office asked 'where's your hat?' (he literally always wears it) and then spent five hours of work time looking for it, retracing his steps and going to the depot of the train he thought he'd lost it on, somehow talking the staff into letting him search the train, and finding it.

When he got back, ironically it got suggested he sow a bell into it so he didn't lose it again.

Today he came in, and jingled like he was wearing a fucking santa hat, he's actually gone and done it.

If it was anyone else we'd rib them endlessly, but he's ex-navy boxer, ex TSG and with no sense of humour what so ever, to the point we suspect at least mild autism or similar. Suffice to say, we are all slightly terrified.

Still can't believe it happened, because there's nothing about events that's not insane.

...and no, I do not mean "crazy" as in "very good".

I do highly suspect that the latest update I just made to my fic is going to make the readers go all like "hmm interesting good fic I'd like to read it- oh wait it's batshit insane". I myself get some "da fuck" vibe from it. It's a detective story, and the chapter contains a minor reveal that involves questionable physics and a creepy little girl :/ But then the original author wasn't alien to using weird plot devices, either, so it may just work out.
