I feel the same. And it's hypocritical, because I have nothing wrong with young teens looking to explore sexuality in a relatively safe way like porn, fanfiction, etc. Hell, I did that was I was 14, too!

But I kind of wanted to vomit when I read a fic that I happened to wank off to, and at the bottom there was author's notes squeeing about how her 14th birthday was in a couple of days. I masturbated to a 13 year old's erotic fantasy. there is not enough bleach in the world for my brain.

Yeah it doesn't surprise me that teenagers are looking up porn since well... it happens. I want nothing to do with it but I can't exactly pretend that's not when I started discovering those things.

It more surprises me that they aren't even pretending that they're 18. Isn't that what you're supposed to do? Go under some anon username and pretend to be older?

Been there. It's an automatic unfollow if I find out the person is under 18. I don't think they should go away or that it's wrong for kids to look at or talk about porn, but as an adult I just want no part of a kids fantasies and porny explorations.

The least they could do was pretend to be of age like the rest of us did.

It works the other way round, too. In a thread specifically devoted to sex and fetishes, I typed up a post about a kinky/incredibly creepy story I'd read. (It was called "Adsorbing Passion" [sic]. Google it at your own risk.) While I was typing it, a girl who'd repeatedly stated that she was twelve years old posted in the thread. She posted shortly afterwards that she'd read the story, and that it was "scary." I did NOT want to share that kind of crap with a little kid.

Anyway, I don't judge people for reading or writing porny fanfic at that age because I was doing the same thing; I imagine a lot of us were. Smutfic was one of my first introductions to fandom and sexuality in general. However, yes, I don't know why anyone would readily announce being underage when in a mature fandom like that. Not mentioning your age at all would be best. (Or, well, at least do it in private to friends and not on your profile or whatever.)

Sorry OP, but I am officially sick of this attitude. Your adultism is gross.

Kids use computers. I grew up with one. I learned a lot of useful things about sex long before I was actually doing anything with anybody because I hung out on the porny parts of the internet. And I was in a much better position to identify creepy behavior for what it was because of that. It helped me take care of myself and stay safe IRL, in a way that being naive never would have. Knowing how adults talk and think about sex is much more useful than eventually getting a weird description in school about penises and vaginas. Going out and hearing how sexuality is a normal component of an adult identity is ... it helps. It's worlds better than feeling like there's something wrong with you for having this weird, tingly, responsive body that likes things that don't make any sense. And if you think that's disgusting, if you think you're totally entitled to consume and create porn but no one under eighteen should be allowed to exist in explicit spaces? I hate that. I don't even know how to articulate how abhorrent that is.

On the one hand, I basically agree with this sentiment. The Internet doesn't always promote healthy attitudes towards sex, but it's a hell of a lot healthier than anything I heard in sex ed, and I think it will ultimately result in a generation with fewer sexual hangups.

The problem is, most adults really don't want to be responsible for teaching kid's about sexuality. It can also cause adults to get in a lot of trouble at worst... and come off as really creepy as best.

I do agree that sex education is generally a joke and it's sad that we don't have great resources for kids to learn about these things. A lot of what is done is there to protect kids but often does them a disservice.

I don't know that the solution is to just let kids be in porny places without consequence, because that can be dangerous as well. Maybe we just need more resources for teenagers?

I can definitely understand that. As adults, we don't see people so young in a sexual light (nor should we), and we don't want to. Even so it is normal for them to have sexual interest, it is also normal for us not to want to know about it and I feel weird when we encounter it.

Aren't those pretty much like doujinshi, only in game form? I honestly can't see the difference from the things adolescents usually read... in my case I feel the opposite: I'm grossed out when it's people over a certain age still getting off on this.

I mean, I think there was no limit to the crap I was reading and liking when I was like 14. I found some old shit I was digging at the time and I almost had an heart attack... I would have jumped on something like this, I'm afraid.

I do find it disturbing the way younger and younger kids are coming into contact with more and more extreme porn, and openly trying to engage adults in sexual conversations and the like. I don't know whether they assume everyone else in fandom is a kid or what, but it is worrying.

I can't help but think we're one egregious incident away from a massive lawsuit and possibly some people going to prison.

I didn't think I'd like Dramatical Murder, but I fucking loved it. Noiz was the best romance. They just seemed like they would have the healthiest relationship, and there's like, no power dynamic like there is in the others.

I've seen people in the fandom younger than 14 who proudly admit to it. There have been people (including myself) who dropped out of exchanges and fests because we were given recipients who said they were underage in their tumblr bios and asked for explicit porn for their gift.

I agree that sex ed in general needs to be better and that teenagers need to explore and experiment, but I think the suggestion that a game like this somehow gives better factual info than proper education is laughable.
