someone from a while ago (at least a year I think, probably more) posted a secret about the fact that they were writing 100 fills for a dead or mostly dead kink meme because they wanted people to be really surprised when 100 fills started being posted all at once and I've always wondered how that was going

So I'm trying to be a good feminist but this manslamming thing seems a little silly to me.

So to catch you all up: Manslamming - The practice men have of colliding with women if they do not move aside for them.

My own possibly ignorat thoughts: This is not unique to men. and I don't mean this in the "But men suffer XXX" too!" kind of way, I think people truly regardless of their social privileges assigned by society are split into two groups The "People who inherently move aside" and the "People who stick to their course regardless of obstacles" The latter group are jerks, and a lot of men may also be jerks, but in this one case I do not believe these are connected.

Exercise Advice

Hey all!

My mom's hurt her foot and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. She used to do a lot of aerobics (mostly treadmill and DVD workouts with jumping and steps and stuff). Now, she can't do that and she's becoming depressed without some exercise.

She works full time and doesn't have time for a gym or anything like that. Does anyone have some aerobic exercises she could do that don't involve her foot?

Went to the doctor about my face and he said he thought I had rosacea. The meds he prescribed were going to be $80 with insurance (according to him). Wal-mart called me and said that it would be over $200 because my insurance would not cover it. Called a local pharmacy and they had some. Went by after work so they could run my insurance information. My insurance covered it and it ONLY cost $10.

What is something good that has happened to you lately?

So, I made a thread a while back asking about torrenting and got some good advice. However, I am apparently completely tech-illiterate because I can't get anything to work (and I ended up downloading a bunch of Adware).

So, can someone provide me with a step-by-step of how to download and then use torrent (like what's bit-torrent and stuff?). Or, provide me with a link to a trusted site that explains it like I've never touched a computer before in my life?

Does anyone have any advice for the Adware. I've uninstalled a bunch of it but my virus protection never picked it up and I'm wary of downloading a program to search for it. What do you trust? Is there something else I could be doing? Do you have to download something or can you do it manually?

So I don't know how to phrase it, but I'm in the mood to read about a future where is is not constantly night, where the world is not one large urban sprawl devoid of nature, where the weather is something other than rain. Where they have fresh air instead of pollution. I don't necessarily want to avoid the distopian future bit, Just maybe a distopian future I could stonch to live in without killing myself. I'm not ever sure how you would classify this, but I's looking for advice and recs.

I've got a housemate whose preferred room temperature is in the 40's (Fahrenheit), while the rest of us in the house prefer temperatures ranging from high 60's to low 70's. Unfortunately, due to the position of her room in the apartment and the structure of the apartment itself, the heat tends to get concentrated in her room, leaving it kind of stuffy even though she leaves her window open 24/7 (and it's winter, so outdoor temperature is 40's and 30's). We completely closed the slats to the vents in her room (which are in the ceiling), but that wasn't enough (and swapping rooms isn't possible for a variety of reasons). We asked the student housing/apartment management about just covering the grill/vent completely, but they said it wasn't possible.

I feel like that's more of a legal thing than a technical issue. I was first thinking duct-tape to cover the grill, before realizing that with the glue/tape taking the brunt of the heat, it would probably either dry the 'glue' and render it ineffective quickly, or just melt the tape and make things worse.

The only option the management had to offer was a window fan to suck out the hot air, but those look rather expensive and the noise might be a problem for the housemate.

I'm hoping someone else here has a suggestion. So far, the compromise has been the keep the thermostat set to the low 60's - the problem being that due to our housing structure, this leaves most of us actually living in mid-50's temperature (one of my other housemates will wander around in a parka), while her room still isn't cool enough to her taste, anyway.
