Men in kilts!

Last stream was pretty bad movies one after another so I'm doing better movies this time.

The first one's cheating a bit because it's really only got a kilt for one moment, but it's Sean Fucking Connery in the kilt and that's good enough! Also since Age of Ultron is the week after, the name is appropriate: Avengers!

Then, a mocumentary about a scottish hairdresser trying to make it big that's pretty goddamn good: The Big Tease!

Finally, a true scotsman wears a kilt a whole movie! SAMUEL L. JACKSON! The most Scottish motherfucker, MOTHERFUCKER! Forumla 51!

The "yes" votes on the spoiler-warnings thread from yesterday are slightly edging out the "no"s, so let's give it a try: spoiler talk is fine and post as many as you want, but warn for them in the first comment then post the actual spoiler stuff collapsed in the second (just like trigger type RL stuff is done currently).

Am I the only one who's been in fandom long enough that I sometimes wonder if newer fandom friends are older ones - either with some actual rationale or completely theoretically?

I also have a few who disappeared that I'd love to "reunite" with. (There's one I do worry about, as I think she had depression...)

After many months of obsessing and watching all the LPs and writing about it, I am installing Outlast as we speak. I recently got a laptop that can handle non-ancient games without choking and dying like my desktop does, and as much as I love watching the LPs and other people's reactions, it's been frustrating not being able to really explore it myself and get more screenshots and stuff for my fic. Even though I know where all the scares are and what to do, everybody says watching and playing are very different, so I figure I'll have a great time trying not to throw my laptop across the room or chicken out at the basement, lol. I willingly visited the Shalebridge Cradle in Thief 3 many times, but I've never played an entire horror game, plus DLC. Is there any effective way to stop bullying?

I ask this because anytime I see anti-bullying campaigns they never seem effective. Telling kids that bullying is bad doesn't change the hidden tactics and that peer pressure is a bitch. Seems like whenever groups of people get together it's just natural that somebody's gonna get ostratized.

Like the only thing that seems remotely effective is switching school or changing the bullyee's behavior to make them less of a target.

I realised I'll probably never have friends on a close enough wavelength to me to be completely, guard-down comfortable with for extended periods of time. I accept that. That's reality.

Because it's that time of life, one friend's been getting all politically aware. Fine. We have different pet issues. Of course. And considerately, they don't turn IRL shit conversations into soapbox sessions. But OTOH, they've been a Richard Dawkins fan/defender for pretty long now. I'm atheist and as meme-fascinated as the next person, but he puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Other friends have drifted away from me more innociously interest- and activity-wise, and/or are in the honeymoon phase with their other halves. We're not on bad terms. But this looks like the point I very obviously need to put in effort to widen my social circle.
